The only way that I am going to split the cases is if I find that the rod bearings are in bad shape, crank runout is excessive, or end play is bad. thanks for the advice earlier about not splitting the cases. :D

I have been thinking about buying a "basket case' and building from the ground up. This bike isn't for "hotroadkinging" Just a mild build that is enjoyable.

A 106 is about the best all around motor a dude could ask for,
and taking a 88 cu to the stroker world is a super great thing for it.
And to make it a 106 is the best of both worlds.
And its all about how you break it in and how you ride it.
If you don't get radical with the heads or cams you have a great motor.
It you need to pass, there is no problem what so ever. And if you need to twist the throttle and go without downshifting, you can Do it
If you deceide to just cruise around, you can do that too.
    A 106 is a great motor to take a 88cu to.
You wished the 88 cu was a stroker motor like a 96 cu motor is so you could take it to 103 or a 106
Not you have crossed the line to the stroker world.
All the bikes since 07 has been stroker motors.
A buddy that used to build motors all the time. Said it was the motor that made more customers happy than any other build.
Never had a unhappy customer with a 106 build

Another motor, then you need another bike.
you got the perfect motor right here to do it to.
You ain't making it a race bike. You are just increasing the displacement and makin it a stroker motor like the newer bikes are.
Stroker motors are where its are where its at
You have the bike and the motor to do it to,
Winter is just approaching now. This is the time to do it to the bike.
the 106 is the perfect direction while you have the top end off.
If you are gonna do it, do it right.

got one small problem he cant use those wheels . with the pistons he bought they will stick out of the deck 3/8 of an inch . the pin height will be to far up . they are for a four inch stroke . cant piss away 400.00 bucks! that 3.9380 bore motor will make plenty of power 105 and 115 easy good head work and good exhaust . and a good tune . but the vance and hines duals gotta go. there good to 75 horse then they choke up good head pipe and some kury mufflers with big baffles. they look nice with those extended bags saw some nice bikes at the kurry booth with big bags and there exhaust looks great and sounded good . mikes bike made quite a bit of power with that exhaust .he has quite a nice product.some thing to look at?

I know 88 pistons and 96 or larger pistons are different.
Stroker pistons are not as long as 88cu piston.

And a 106 will make more power

I am hoping to have a new exhaust by the time that we get this thing tuned. I have decided that I am going to go to a 2-1 with a ghost pipe. I have my brand picked out and am pretty stoked.

Don't know what kind of billet heads you have JB. I know you will have a good set.
And I know this don't have nothing to do with you. But I thought I'd post it

Just wanted to let you know this dude has the best set of heads I've seen.
Bob Woods even said the same thing. Woflgang has the best set of heads he has ever seen.
I had him to do some work on my last bike. Hes about 60 miles or so from me

Maybe Baggerpaul or somebody has heard of him

The girl in the picture with him and the trophy is his daughter. I've seen her and seen the bike that he has
