No worries brother.. Shiit, I just remembered that I have some S&S rocker shafts waiting for me, I suppose I better go and get them huh?? Hey, since my starter just took a shiit I am thinking that I am going to leave it down and just start breaking the bike down, but will a stcok HD starter be up to the task once we are done with this thing????

Git a All Balls 1.4 kw starter from Eastern Performance unless you know somebody that can git you a better deal on one.
this might be the one that fits yer bike. Don't know if you want chrome or black

I agree with the batt as well . And shop around get more starter than you need that way you womt do it again you have room for a 2.o kw starter motor.

A reg HD battery won't do it? So is a Spyke Starter a good way to go as well?

Batteries Plus sells Deka Batteries. I put a Odyssey battery in mine.
My buddy put a Extreme AGM battery in his. Both of us had the DEka batteries and they lasted like 2 yrs.

    Deka makes the Harley Batteries

Stock HD battery will work fine as long as it's in good condition.... HD, Big Crank,Deka are all East Penn manufacturing batteries...also a buddy of mine bought a battery at Napa for his softail and it was a Deka too... EXT16L was on the box,I think it was the Napa brand....
If you're using compression releases, your stock starter should do OK too,but a higher wattage starter is not a bad idea along with an extra ground....

The 1.4 kw starter will crank his bike better and work well with the stock battery..
Its a lot better than the stock starter and you can git it for about the same price as a stock starter in Black
The All Balls starter for the money is the best starter I've owned.
Eastern Performance gave me the best price on it.
I needed one now, do I called them said send it to me asap.
It went with the bike when I traded it in.

Compression releases, OEM starter, good battery and some upgraded cables, like Yooper, will work fine. Alos make sure you have a good ground. Have two with near 200psi CCP, both setup as described above and no starting issues. Keep the battery on a tender when not riding; strong battery is the key.

There is an electrical motor repair shop in my home town, do you think that I could bring the starter to them to get my starter fixed (rebuilt) or do you think that I should just get a new one?

Either this week or next week I will be ordering the SE 44mm intake kit. Once that is received then it will ne time to break the engine apart. Only a week away. Can you say "EXCITED"????????
