Man I'm Sorry, I couldn't wish Spyke on nobody . Johnny Is spending a lot on his bike. And you know he's young. This needs to be a good experience for him. It will probably be his 1st build. Hes real excited. I don't want to see him get shot down and be unhappy. Hes getting some great help. I'm glad.
Hes new into the bagger family. Want him to have a great experience with his build.
Hes gonna learn a lot from this build. I want him to take everything in.
with what I want threw with spyke starters and all the other folks that asked me what to do when they had the same problems with Spyke. They had all the money out and no starter for their bike to ride and was going threw living hell.
Think they just gave up and took a loss on it and bought a All Balls starter and emailed me and said Thanks for the Advise on All Balls starter from Eastern Performance.
All Balls has a great warranty too.

Did they go out on you, personally, the HD SE lifters?

Just like anything a few people have a problem with something
then they become keyboard commandos telling everyone how
they had a bad experience with 4 lifters even though the MOCO
sells 100,000 of them... not even one tenth of one percent.

**** happens, mechanical parts have issues,

Got a buddy owns a shop, customer brought in a custom
softail bagger, 5000 miles, lifters shidt out, Jims lifters,
requires custom gaskets, Jims sold them to him, $4 in gaskets
costs $40 with handling and shipping.

Point is, Jims lifters have a problem, so now should we tell everyone
    that Jims has crappy lifters?

On HTT there's a ton of guys that post stuff there
that's not even remotely verifiable, they do
a decent enough job of weeding out some of the BS

Go in the EFI tuning section, there are
keyboard commandos that do nothing but
start net fights making false statements
about T-Max, or TTS etc all the time
vendors defend themselves all the time

That's why I asked if you'd had some issues
just curious if it was first hand or repeating what
    ya heard....

:roflmao::roflmao: He has been doing that for two years or so. I know, if the product doesn't have "Woods Performance" on the product, it is junk. I still haven't learned.:D

I did check HTT and I took a look at a search and really all I really got from it is that people are bitching about bleed down. Ride your friggen bike then you won't have to worry about it so much!!!!:banghead::banghead: I was looking at the new SE Lifter with larger bearings in the roller. Those look like a good part. :D

I have been a member of the HTT forum since 2005. Not sure who you are referring to but the core members of that forum are probably the most knowledgable group online and don't post anything not based on personal experience. Sure, there are interlopers that come and go and post BS and try to start arguments, or net fights, as you call them but those guys don't last long as soon as they find that they are in way over their heads.

Knowledge doesn't have to be first hand if the source of the knowledge is credible. Information posted on HTT by the core membership is bankable.

:rant: I have thought about the breakdown and rebuild thread but not for this site. I thought that it would be more beneficial for CC. Who knows. I am not sure what the absolute must have information is though. I do not want to leave out important information.:D

I am sure there are members of this forum that would benefit from a good write up with pictures along the way. Just seeing what everything looks like, the tools and how they are used, the assembly process, etc. would be useful for anyone that hasn't done it and might be what they need to take on a similar project themselves.
