Come on over, the speed limit in a lot of places here is 75mph. We run 85mph

Why do you need 124 ci motor and 6 speeds on 2 wheels?
What are you some kind of half-a$$ed astronout? :roflmao:

I have a 6 speed OD...Completely useless below 70 unless your going down hill...At 80 I'm turning only 3,000 rpm's...I love it on trips...No looking for that phantom gear...

Consider this a 6 speed is a better tool than a 5 speed
What gear you are in is determined by rpm, hp, and torque
If you are only runnin fast enough for. 4th that's where you run
Your rpm should be at least 2000 rmp in a gear
If you are running a higher rpm the. 6 speed is just another tool in yer arsenal for you to use

I woke up today and I went downstairs and it was like Christmas. I came to my very kitchen and there sits two packages for me. :D 1 package contained my brand spanking new GATERMAN LIFTERS that I bought from a forum member on Harley Tech Talk.

The second package contained the SCREAMING EAGLE ROLLER ROCKERS and JIMS Support Plates that I had purchased from DJL. Thanks a TRUCKLOAD DJL, it was very much appreciated. I think today the wife and I are going to go buy a heater for the garage. Appreciate it!!!

Ha-ha! Mine, too. But I rarely go over 60 - 65 anyway, unless I need to pass some slowpoke. Our fellow members have those big inch motors and 6th is like overdrive for them, I imagine. I have been 115 on my 4 speed Ironhead Sporty and would never, ever do THAT again on any bike without a fairing LOL.

All I can say it rent a new bike with a 103 motor
See how well they run. The gearing is different than the 1st 6 speeds on the market back in 07. And the torque is greater.
They run so much better. And they run so much smoother.
    You might change your mind.
I recently rented a 13 Ultra Limited. And I could see a little difference than my 11 Ultra limited.
Change on the newer bikes is good.
I truly like the newer bikes.

you know all the guys with six speeds always complain about pinging ! think alot of them like to lug a motor and dont know how to shift . or maybe the primary gearing is the issue? seems to me lots of guys seem to regear the six speed bikes after bumping the cylinder pressure just so slightly with the later model bikes makes you wonder if that six speed is worth all the trouble?

Don't know any of your bikes...As far as I'm concerned anything below 2,100 is lugging it...And that is with 21 or 26G's which supposedly kick in around 1,800...

RK, A friend of mine is considering a new RG. We've heard that the fairing sucks up a lot of water and throws it on you when caught in the rain. Any truth to that? C46

I don't know about the Harleys full fairing but the old Windjammer used to and also suck in the exhaust. It caused a back-draft. Windjammer then came out with the windshield with the aviation vents in the bottom of the windshield that relieved the back-pressure. Thats the one I had. There is nothing like riding behind the full fairings especially in frigid and/or rainy weather.
