Been to daytona bike week for over 15 years
    never been hassled

If you were hassled you either smarted someone off,
rode like an idiot, did a burn out, racked your pipes
    stupid stuff.

Lots of people do that , first time out in months
add sun, alcohol and you get instant dumbazz

IF you know where to go and
what to do it's fun, lots to see and do
not a day there isn't a wet tshirt contest
or a bike show close by...

I went to Vegas for bike week, I was not at all impressed. I mean Vegas is kool and all, but everything was more money etc.

Living in AZ, Vegas is not far, we had made that trip, stayed at the Palms and did some riding in the area.
A kool place to check out around Vegas is the Little A'Le'Inn
Little A'Le'Inn Online Shop for All Your Alien Needs
About 150 miles outside of Vegas. The food was umm, lets just say not Vegas quality, but the people were interesting, very friendly. We had lunch there, hung out for hours watching people come and go, smoked a cigar and headed back to Vegas for a real dinner and some entertainment.

Re: Planning for the 2010 season

Just had another go around with the OL - she is still not buying a two up ride anywhere - says she will not ride again. Oh well -looks like a vacation for two and a vacation for a twosome is the answer. So I'm planning a road trip with her in the cage and a solo trip for me on the bike; that way she's happy and I still get my trip in to Daytona or Sturgis.
It sure is great to be retired ain't it? - Come and go as ya please.:D

Last time we went to daytona bike week we were in a tee shirt shop. I told the wife to look at the scruffy looking guy with long hair sewed under his arm pits of his leathers. Just then another a guy fired a db up and the scruffy guy floped a badge on his chest and grabed the guys wrist and slaped the cuff' on him. I will never forget it. It was so funny the look on the guys face. He didnt get a good hit and he was off to the warehouse thats were the store the bad boys.

See we go to the Lonestar Rally, we don't have that problem with the Police jackin with us. I know Daytona is where everybody goes. But to go and be harrased. Seems like these Texas boys don't take it very well. We don't like hiding and lookin for the man.
If he needs to be a sheep in a mans clothin that just ain't right.
I know about how they act cause I used to go and stay with my Aunt every year when I was younger. drove my car down from Alabama and would go out and do things with my cousin. He would tell me they was going to git us for screwing around.
Think he may of become a Beach Police officer while he was going to school to work on boats and yahts down ther.
Haven't seen him in over 35 yrs.
Found out about the Florida laws the hard way.
    Made me quit going.

Hate to hear Sarge7 that yer wife don't like to ride very much. That sucks.
But you can't make a women do what you do. yer just lucky if they do and when you leave without them you feel guilty.

    Wish you luck in Daytona.

I guess I'm a pretty lucky, my wife if crazy about riding. She don't care where were riding as long as she gits to go. She has her nightster, but if I'm going riding she wants to git on back with me.
We bond pretty dang good on that.

When I don't ride much she gits in a Bad Mood man, and tells me about it.

Guess with me crying about her kickin the top off my water Bottle and her squirmin on back of the bike all the time cause she's short ain't really so bad.:gah:
Cause I'd be depressed if she hassled me about riding.

I better shut up and except my luck. Squirm baby squirm.

I hear ya on the OL wantin to ride Cardboard. Mine always wants to go, and usually farther and longer than my back can hold up. Good thing is, I don't hafta "talk" her into bike stuff, no bickering about riding, and no complaining on spending the bucks on the bike.
Downside is I rarely get to ride alone, outside of the short ride to and from work.
Other downside is she's buggin me to trade for a geezer glide. ( I know, once I get one I'll never be sorry,,,, heard it all before:) )

My wife has had honey dews for me to do for years and years, but i've never done them. Just ain't got in the mood yet.
My buddy back home that rides, his wife has had 1 big to her, honey dew she wants done. Well she has waited for a little over 12 yrs now and he still ain't done it.

Had a 07 WG, build the motor and put everything on it you could.
bike rode great and would scream.

We kept gittin farther and farther from homw. It was kickin our butt riding 500 miles in a a day. And we could go out and do that on Saturday.

I went to Cowboy Harley and the salesman that ChuckTx told me to see, he pulled a bike off the floor and put it outside for me to ride. I took it out and rode it. Man it rode good.
I had been riding a Old 64 Duo Glide for a long time before that. No windshield, no hard saddlebags. forward controls.
Thought I would just ride it forever. It didn't take a lot to keep it up. But is was tough to crank.

I had already quit work and had some money in my pocket.
Took the EG out for a ride. Came back and took a big loss on the WG. But i drove off on a EG. The ride is much better. And the saddlebags sure was nice.
Not to mention the fairing. I wanted a young mans bike but couldn't handle it any more. I had to git a Cadillac.
I had the OL to call and asked me what i was doing, I said I had gone to Beaumont to see a man about a Dog.
She said you just bought a new Lab, what are you doing.
Trading bikes. No yer not, I'm attacthed to the WG.
But when she rode the EGS she never said nothin but I will miss the WG, it was a good bike and i have many, many memories on it that I will never forgit.

That was a nice lookin ride.In1969 I bought a new R60 BMW.I sold it 2years ago for almost $1000 more than I paid for it. That was my last ride. At 72 im not sure about the reflexes. The Florida traffic is bad. You guys sure bring back the memories. My last Harley was a 41 61 knucklehead. Back in the 50's there was no traffic in Florida. That was before the mouse house. Later OleTed

I've been on several geezer glides, and they do ride nice. Like all the conveniences too.
They feel "cramped" to me after riding with forward controls. I suppose I'd get used to that too.
Nice pic of the WG btw.

No problem with the OL not going with me! - she does her thing and I do mine after 40 years of marriage we just know what each other likes to do. She just got back from Baton Rouge by train after spending a week down there and even brought me a T-shirt at the HD dealer down there.
Used to ride a Shovel NG back in the 60's and 70's and she was always on the back of that bike - then got the geezer glide and now she wants no part of it. Guess there's just no fiquring what a OL will do or say no matter what.
But she gives a lot slack on my rope so I'm not complaining to much. Guess it's true love fer sure; Threatened to trade her in when she hit 60 for two 30 year olds or 3 - 20 year olds but she remined me that I turned 60 before she did - so I let that idea go out to pasture real quick. It's like havin a pair of ole blue jeans that are full of holes and thread bare; just to confortable to git rid of, so I guess I'll keep her around for awhile longer. Besides she's the one that reminds me to take my viarga.:roflmao:
