Man, there's nothin' better than cruisin' in an air conditioned Caddy! Glad you got some good results, but 1/2 a quart in 500 miles still sounds like you're burning too much oil? Rislone is cheaper than an overhaul though.

from what I read that is a northstar and they burn oil to the rate of a qt to 1000 miles so you're halfway there, some suggestions to use Syn vs dyno oil

Have you looked at using oil formulated for higher mileage engines?

No, I'm right there,1/2 qt in just over 500mi. Using 5-50 syn.at last change. was using 10-40 syn. From what I gather from internet, the Northstar eng. has very close tollerence in the ring groove in the piston to ring. 'Needs thinner oil or the rings stick.

So anyway, (digressing from caddy stories, like bikers should care about cage stuff, unless it is Jeeps) I road well over a hundred miles today to get a chip for Cowboy.....really glad for the excuse! Great ride, and if ya get a chance to hit High Sierra Brewery in Carson City, do it. Now I have enough to make a trip to the post office worthwhile!

Now time for more beeeeeeeer! (They have to-go growlers!):roflmao:

Dang, the extended smileys take tooooooo long to load anymore.

I'll send you two, just give me a couple days to mail em. Gotta ride to the coast with a bunch of guys and then ride a single lane road back up the Nestucca river and then over the coast range mountains. Beautiful ride would love to take you all on it.
