how much do electricians make down there? Something is amiss if an assembler is making more money. I'm not going to begrudge Harley trying to make money for the stockholders, profit isn't a dirty word and at least they're trying to keep solvent, they've made some hard decisions, a little like Ford. I'll buy a Harley with Asian parts faster than I'll buy a Chevy. Not going to get into the union debate too heavy..some folks here know my background. Some places still need unions. Meanwhile I'm looking at something like this to ride
    2000 HARLEY DAVIDSON CVO FXR4 - YouTube

    a 5 speed bike...:)

That there is a FXR actually it was a 2000 FXR4, last year they made them..I had a 1990 FXRS sp and took a lot of the sportbike guys to school on it and it was yellow and white, dual discs ported heads cams..a sweet bike. This bike is clean with a lot of extra chrome on it and low miles. I think it's a bit spendy but not far from book value. A neighbor of HRK has a sweet FXRS 1992 for sale, low miles and from what I can tell in great shape..be a good buy for a decent price. It's alooooong way from where I live so it may be a trip to the poorhouse to get it up to Calgary. This FXR4 is more money but the shipping is cheaper. I'm looking at a few other bikes. One of the salesmen at the local Harley dealership has a 2003 Dyna Sport for sale. Normally Dynas don't get me excited but I know the guy. His bike is cleaner than most restaurants. He's done the mods that I would do on the bike, lots of nice touches. He's a bit high on price but there's no duty and brokerage fee getting the bike across the border but I sure love those FXRs..ride one if you get the chance..they're special.
