That's why I don't like a piggy back system like the Power Commander.

Ain't got nothin to do with Piggy back systems. Its somebody makin alterations to a tuner product.

And I don't know that TM makes units for Metric bikes.

    Just call me confused
Also don't understand why a Metric bike person would ask the questions to Harley folks. Two entirely differnt bikes.

    Its like this Redneck.
I do not have the Title on the bike.
Got a lot of payments to make.
Also havea 5 yr warranty. I'm gonna ride the warranty for a little while.
Ain't got the bike even broke in yet. Got it with 1038 miles. Rode it 51 miles home. And for 3 weeks I've only had a couple days that it ain't rained.
Got over 1600 miles on her.
And its rainin again. If I could find the person that ordered this rain. I would shoot at em.
The bike runs pretty good for a stock bike. I have no problem riding with the other folks. Bike goes threw the gears pretty fast too.
HD really did good on the new frame and the new gearing.
Just made my 1st payment that will be due in a couple weeks.

Enjoying her being Quiet. Guess I'm gittin Old........:cussing:

i got my power commander for 50€ a used PCIIIusb costs 250€ so i tryed to do this with this one. The only difference is the inputs and outputs (the outputs are adapted to the resistance of the injectors and the inputs are adapted so the ECU is fooled into thinking it's still connected to the injectors).
ohh and the firmware is set up so it only accepts maps for the bikes they are intended to ( i had to re-edit a CBR954RR )

So cardboard you are saying the power commander should be avoided? i totaly agree but still if you change something on the bike ( throttle bodies, exhaust, cams,...) it is best if you tune it. I would rather reprogram the original ECU but this PC was the best deal for me.

I like the Thunder-Max with Auto Tune better than the Power Commander,

But I don't know if they make the Thunder-Max for metric bikes.
The Power Commander is a Piggy Back unit.
The Thunder-Max replaces the factory ECM.

I would look on Ebay for a used Powercommander that
fits the bike, hopefully you'll get it figured out, I know that 200 euros
is a lot of money, but, so is a repair to an engine that
goes lean at the wrong moment because it can't
read the sensor properly and burns up a hole in a piston..

So you understand all the sensors and computers on them.
And if you make changes what to do so the engine gits the right amount of fuel or change the timing.:banghead:

Sorry dude. Computers operate everything on the bikes now days. From timing, fuel, air, brakes , and a whole lot more

Cpmputers are one of the most important things on the bikes today.

Man I been workin with them since like 07 and I bearly know. Been around folks that know a lot. I am gittin older and forgit what I've been taught.

Know you can do a whole lot more with computers and pull more power overall out with computers and git better fuel milage.
    Carbs are better for racing.

I'm trying to learn more and keep up.
But I can't write it all down.

Cardboard, Bike Talk started out with about half and half metric/Harley. I even started on Bike Talk riding a metric bike back in the mid to early 90's. However in 99 I saw the light so to speak when I bought my first Harley a Roadking and sold my Yamaha Royal Star. I've never looked back sense but got to tell you we should not make any metric rider feel unwelcome. I know of one rider who no longer posts here much anymore as he has two metric bikes and started on Bike Talk before it was even really called Bike Talk. I've met up and rode with him a few times and still consider him a friend. We all have one thing in common, we ride and that is what we really need to remember. :)

    Hmmmmmmmmm

Never heard of anybody talk about workin on Metric bikes on here.
Didn't understand that anybody could answer his question

Are the computers on Metric bikes even close.

I did tire changes and chains to them when I was at a Indy shop for a year.
They require different kinds of bike lifts and tools totally.

CB, most of the metric bikes don't need a computer change or addition as some of them are pretty dammm fast just by themselves.

Yea that was him, he recently got himself hitched and I believe he is in Reno now. He's a good guy and rides a lot.
