Speaking of primary and torx fasteners. I'm headed over to my brothers place this morning to help him. He crashed on his bike in June and went over the bars and his bike got messed up pretty bad in places. He is 70 and to old to be doing that. Got to pull his primary off, needs a new cover, remove his crash bars (there bent back on the left side), pull the front fender off. He took his left saddle bag to a friend of his to have it repaired. Fender needs either replacing or a good body man.
That quick release windshield on his Roadking was really scratched up and I have a old one here so will put that on for him. Need to adjust his handle bars and adjust his clutch also.
I think he is going to sell it as it scared him pretty bad and he has a hard time walking anymore due to his bad knees.

He went into a sweeping corner doing about 40 on a back road up in the MT Hood forest area. It was shaded and then full sun in his eyes and he said it blinded him and he went off the road. Not good for sure.

The old 1, 2, ska-doo and over the handle bars trick. I've done that before myself. Not fun, I almost broke my wrist on that flight.

Yeah, broken ribs are fun! for about 2 months, then the fun wears off.

Went over there and found out why he was having so much trouble. He didn't realize that there was a nut behind the Torx bolt on the other side. No problem taken it off.

He has a really nice 99 two tone blue Roadking. Told him when he gets the front fender back and the bag back after its been painted then I will adjust his clutch (really a heavy pull) and change the primary oil. Need to re-adjust the bars to, they got pushed down pretty far. If he keeps it I might put one of those easy pull adapters in for him. Sure hard to see your brother looking so old.

the easy pull is worth the trouble to install, I put one on my wifes bike a couple of years ago and I put one on my bike this spring, well worth it.

Yea, just hate pulling the exhaust off to get the cover off, but he is worth it.

Finally!! I was able to get some time last night to get into the garage and get the small things buttoned up. Got the prime cover torqued down, new fluid, clutch adjusted. I even tore the air cleaner off and cleaned and re-oiled it, reinstalled the V-Ductor, advanced my timing, pulled the plugs checking for color and the gap. :D

They are frigging dangerous, know of a couple that had the dang thing come undone while riding down the interstate and they both spent months in the hospital.

Was not the bolt coming loose a arm broke and then threw them onto the freeway. Not a heavy enough structural piece they said.
