Didn't need new lifters...took the 1 yr old ones in there apart and found sheit like this....here's what came outta the rear exhaust lifter...

    [IMG][/IMG]

Something going right JB would be taking the lifter apart and findin' a little bit of rag chit in the feed hole, cleaning it out and alls good:)

Thanks...I think we got it......Like HRK said there's lotsa tiny passages can clog it up

We'll know tonight for sure if we're done, but from what I saw in the lifters I'm confident we'll be seeing oil in the rocker boxes when we spin it over tonight...:)

LOL You got that right ....wasn't too much of a tear down last night, just down to the lifters and was actually happy the first thing we saw was a plugged feed hole in the lifter... So we cleaned them out and flushed them with lotsa beer....They were the only things not scrubbed because I was going to replace them

I have a feeling that you'll find some more plugged stuff.

If you haven't buttoned it up, with the lifters out, crank it over
no plugs, coil unplugged, see if it's pushing oil out the lifter feed side holes in the
cases. If one isn't, you'll know where to clean,

She's not getting buttoned up until there's oil spilling out of the rocker boxes. We're not going to tear it down again.

I guess I was referring to the fact that you wouldn't have to wait a year to get the lifters if you needed them. That usually helps when you know it can be a quick fix.

Yeah...it is good news I found a place in Canada that stocks a quality lifter and decent price ...almost half the price of stock lifters at the dealer here

For me that is the most annoying thing is when I have to wait a long time to get a part. I know that there isn't anything that I can do about it, just drives me :gah:. Back Order sucks too, then you have no idea when it is going to be when you get it, then you left scrambling. :banghead:

Today people has done studies and Harley Davidson, Home Depot, Lowes and everybody calculates cubic space. They want to put in that cubic space what sells now and what will make them the most money.
They ain't gonna sit on a bunch of parts that ties up money.
And you have to do inventory on and pay taxes on.
The tax folks and having to count everything will eat you out of house.
Not to mention The building yer in and insurance.

So I think you will have to git used to it.

Looks like it may just have been plugged oil holes. Hope you got it this time.

Buttoned up and unbuttoned again(a little less each time anyway)..

We have oil going through to the lifter feeds, just not going up the pushrods all the way.... the oil that's getting there is clean too....
The lifters were taken apart and cleaned and looked fine,we can't figure out why the oil isn't going up to the top...we're wondering if the lifters aren't pumping up enough to push the oil up the rods...
The charger bit the bullet and my battery started slowing down, but it was whipping over fast enough to pump oil for a few minutes, even when it was turning over slow, a good amount of oil was flowing through the lifter feed...

Your gonna need some engine speed rpm to see a cht load of oil up top if the starter motor is getting it there it gonna take a little more grunt for it to flow constant leave the tank off and run it off a oil bottle with a small 90 weight oil ***ple on it and a hose poke a hole in the bottom for a vent works like a small tank .

Nope never mind forgot it has fi ya can but it takes a pump and reg set up or a power and ground to the tank and make an extra long fuel line with a doner fitting from a old fuel line to set thtank on the floor or bench so it not sitting on the bike flopping around

    LOL I miss my carb....haha

Do you think that maybe it's not spinning fast enough to pump the oil all the way up??
