Well, I think that I have solved my problem as far a s the fuel issue goes. What I ended up doing was draining the gas, AGAIN. This time what I did was put a chain inside of the tank and put that kerosene stuff it. I only put like a gallon of that in. The tank was taken of of course, so I left the fuel valve on so I had a non messy way to drain the fuel. I sloshed the chain along with the kerosene so that the chain would knock dirt loose inside the tank. I drained it, took the chain out, then added gas to rinse the tank. After that was done, I then took the valve off. I will tell you that I thought it was a sandbox. I mean there was a lot of crud in there. I took carb cleaner to clean the valve. It cleaned it so well i had to use that wonderful stuff called WD-40 to lubricate the valve switch. Since I had the tank off, I changed out my plug wires with the ones that I had got from Sumax for fee and I also pulled the plugs to see how the engine is running. Running perfect! By the way I now have a fuel filter inside the tank. Everything is now put back together and I took it for a spin and I can tell the difference already. Now the real test is to see how it acts when it gets down to reserve level.

I reckon that's one way to do it !!! I know of guys dropping small nuts, bolts, washers, etc. into a tank along with a cleaning fluid, then shaking the tank - but they did that in preparation for using a new liquid liner product like "Kreem" - and they still didn't get every nook & cranny inside the tank.

I hope what you've done works for you, but if you have the same problems in the future, take the tank to a radiator shop.

    Did you inspect the inside?

    If you damaged the liner
or it's already damaged it's going to rust and flake and
possibly strand you down the road...
