    Hey Red,

I talked to my dealership, the one that we are going to meet at, and they had said that if you can get there early enough in the day, they could get you an oil change without an appointment.

I expect to be in the Sturgis area sometime between the 5th and 8th. If you're gonna be there during that window, I'll see about coming to your locale. Just tell me when/days you'll be there for now, and I'll pass better info in a few weeks or so.

And CONGRATS on the "Could Be Really Big Thing" - it does sound not just that it could be, but that it will be!

Wow, cool. Unfortunately, I've got 500 miles to cover that day to get to our rally point so it will probably be around 1600.....er, I mean 4PM. Would that be early enough? Of course, I may be calling it a day there (in Montevideo, right?) regardless.

If you need to call it a day in Montevideo that is up to you. I am sure that I can get them to change the oil for you no matter what time it is. I can always get there earlier and get them to be ready to change the oil for you once you ride in.. I love my dealership, they do a really good job..

Its hard to know how thrashed I'll be on any given day, especially since I'll be coming off a visit with a partying friend in Racine. The weather, too, comes into play.

A thought you two might consider - if you know of a place (or places, to keep options open) that is a good overnighter (grub & sleep spot) about an hour or three west of Montevideo, then we could ride there together. Something like that, if ya want to keep riding after I hit Montevideo.

Yeah we can call it a night in Monte. The wife and I will grab a hotel room there too and it would be awesome to ride further with you. I have asked HR to make sure that she takes those days off which is no problem with her.

I am really looking forward to meeting you, I think it would be a great time, looking forward to hearing some stories as well.

So is there a place I should make reservations? I pack minimal camping gear and doubt that I'll want to there, so it could even be a nicer place......or a MN unique B&B, if it ain't too much $ I can pull that off for one night.

Fine and dandy, Got my son through the next to last follow-up on his surgery (as tough as his old man - gotta say I'm proud of him- is that a sin?) today, Probably as hard on me as him, though nothing is as scary as having a child in pain. On the 28th, I ride.

Been a lomg day...........snore................we need a sleepy emoticon!

I'm squished - and will be looking forward to a good, lomg ride.

I hope that you like riding in mild twists and turns? The ride from my dealership to Montevideo is about 120 miles. I wanted to swing through the town that Hot Rider and I live in to show you where we live. Then onto Montevideo.

Straight or crooked, I like to ride.

As it stands now I'll have the most flexibility in my wandering after Racine. I'm thinking about a detour to the U P of Michigan, since I'll be within a few hours ride of it and I never been there. Thoughts?

So then that would most likely set your arrival here on the 5th?

Red, I would highly recommend a ride around Michigan UP. It's beautiful, especially along the coastline and over the BIG Mac bridge. Warning: the bridge has an open iron grate deck so you see Lake Mich. (about 100' below) through it--a bit un-nerving.

Dang, sounds great.......I just need to ride. :biker: Gonna do almost 600 miles tomorrow just to make sure the bike is running good (and go see the Pacific, for the heck of it).

JB/HR - When do you want me to show up? Would later in the week be better? Maybe then I'd just go hit the U P and then meet you in wherever. Do you want to ride the U P, too?

Not really making it difficult, I hope. I could easily head east after coming west to see ya, then go back west. That is pretty much a meander's definition.

I got the numbers. I'll give a call when I hit the road around the 27th or so. That don't mean we can't scheme and dream until then, though!;)

It is your trip dude. I am just trying to get a sense of when to be ready. the 4th and 5th is a Thursday and Friday. We have those 2 days dedicated to you if you would like. I do not want to get pushy and schedule your trip for you... I would love to go that way but I only have those two days to spend because of family obligations and work... :D

Roger. Semper Gumby! I'll plan on showing the afternoon of the 4th. Is that to be at the dealership? Please confirm that, and I'll plan on making it happen.

Yes that is to be at the dealership. :D IF you take I494 west through Eden Prairie, find Prairie Center Drive, take that Exit. You should then come to Plaza Drive shortly after getting onto Prairie Center Drive. I believe you would have to take a right onto Plaza Drive. Keep going until you see the dealership on the right.. Or will you be carrying a GPS???

Ol' Red is ready to ride. Did about 500 miles today, and could have done more - but not an Iron Butt day by any means. Too many obligatory stops - had to visit a bit. Still, got it all done and was as comfy as I could be - it was COLD out here. In the 30s crossing the Sierras and didn't break 80s until the last hour of the trip. Doesn't look like that will be an issue later this month.
