Yep, cool. I'm looking forward to riding with you, wherever to that may be. I'll make sure to give you updates for my ETA. If my CO commitment weren't a solid, have-to-be there-then one, I'd already be on my way.

That is cool. I am going to spend some time next week to start looking over my scoot really hard to make sure that everything is tip top for our ride. I have some good nice scenery miles in mind. (South Eastern Minnesota) I have only been down that way once by myself and Hot Rider, like I said, it is incredible by car. I can only imagine what it would be like on a scooter.. :D

Too bad you don't have a windshield on the Sporty to keep those big Minnesota bugs off ya. Ever catch a bumblebee in the face at 70 mph? It will make you cry.

And at 80 mph, even flies hurt. When you look at my windshield, you can quickly tell how fast I was riding.

Shoot. I totally forgot about this and made a campground reservation in Glacier National Park for the 4th through the 8th to do some writing. Part of the problem is that the Buffalo Chip is jerking me around. I'm just about ready to tell them to forget it and go on with my life. I wish they'd either tell me yes or no. How freaking hard is that?

I was also thinking about Idaho if I don't go to Sturgis. I went through Idaho on my trip in '07 after leaving SD and heading toward NV. Are you going to be going through Idaho at all?

We should be around Rapid City on the 1st or 2nd of August. Then head east on 90 into Minnesota. Don't know where the next stop will be after Rapid city but somewhere around 600 miles. I think our first stop will be at Deer Lodge in Montana the first night if they get going on time. JB, you close to 90 at all.

I'll be going through/visiting Idaho sometime on this meander during the Sturgis rally timeframe (prob the back half), just a bit too far out to be less fuzzy.

I'm s'posed to link up with JB & HR on the 3rd/4th & 5th an hour or so south of Minneapolis. Looks like we'll be darn close to I-90 on the 4th or 5th.

I am about an hour and 20 mins. north of I 90. When you get to a town called Fairmount, take MN 15 north and continue to follow it until you reach a town called Hutchinson. That is where I am at...

We will be meeting in town called Eden Prairie which is a suburb of Minneapolis then we will be heading west from there about about 130 miles to go eat, then back to my hometown to crash. You might be a around on the 3rd??

when we go for the long ride, yes we will be near i90, about a half hour north of it and we may actually have to cross and ride i90 for a short spell.

OK, tomorrow I head East. If all goes well, here is the plan:

    - Friday, 29 July I'm expecting to link up with alex the dog around noon in Salida, CO. I'll confirm time and place Thursday evening.

    - Saturday, 30 July I'm meeting HarleysLR at Outpost Harley-Davidson in Pueblo, CO around 9AM, with that time to be confirmed Friday evening.

    - Thursday, 4 August I'll be meeting up with JohnnyBiker and Hot Rider at Wild Prairie Harley-Davidson in Eden Prairie, MN. We'll ride some that day and Friday, too - but I need to be in Racine Friday night. We'll confirm the time we'll meet on Wednesday evening, but it looks like it may be around noon right now.

Looks like I'll be back in CO (Aurora this time) around the 9th, swingin in from the North via Sturgis. I know I'll be itchin' to get back to my family by then, but I do have some flexibility time-wise. Anyone want to link up, just say so and we'll try to work out a meet.

    Back to packing...............

How much time will it take to get to Racine? We will be riding up the Minnesota Wisconsin border via HWY 61 and to get to Wisconsin would be about a 15-20 mile ride east at any given point. But if you do need to break away earlier than expected that is cool and probably would be best once we get to Winona, MN as it looks like the easiest way to get to Racine is via I94 East.

Rodger on the rest of the plan, and I look forward to meeting up with you and doing some riding with you and RED..

Sounds good to me too. Red, Grand Junction is about 200 miles from Salida, or 4+ hours. No need to hurry if you want to take in the scenery. I'll wait to hear from you Thurs. nite, otherwise, I'll see you in the Wal-Mart parking lot (under the big sign) on the west side of Salida (Hwy. 50) Friday afternoon.
