Met up with Harleyslr today, he is a great guy and know I could ride anywhere with him. Have to come back and meet up with him again. Thanks for the tip on Hwy 24 and the 20 mile an hour corner. Would loved to have hit those corners harder but couldn't pulling the trailer. Were spending the night in Gleenwood Springs CO. Got some pics of some beautiful country. Course HarleysLR has seen em probably hundreds of times. It was cool seeing the bucks with full antlers running through the neighbor hoods in Colorado Springs.

That HD shop was very nice with all the older bikes upstairs. Well worth a stop to see. Here are a few pics from today.

The last 200 miles down the Columbia Gorge that follows the Columbia river that runs between Oregon and Washington was a nightmare. I have a 6 gal tank and at 150 miles I was out of gas and on reserve. I had a 40-50 MPH head wind and side wind in the gorge that was simply ferociously fierce. I had a death grip on the handle bars and when I finally got into Portland my hands and arms were numb and very tired. Had one blast hit me so hard that it virtually blew back into the back rest, pulled my left hand off the bar and in a split second it threw the bike and trailer into the other lane. I knew the winds in the gorge in the late afternoon can be bad but this was scary. Even the Semi-trucks were going slow. The photo shows the rough water on the river looking towards Washington. Its called the windsurfers capital of the world and yes, there are wind mills all up and down the river.
Other photo is on a calm morning.

It was two lanes going the same direction both ways but still could have slammed me up against a truck or car. My wrists still hurt this morning. I was going to ride up over MT Hood and get out of the wind but it would have taken longer, wished I would have now.
