+1 with hrk .also it makes it look like the primary cover is leaking at the plug but it's not .usally it shows up on the floor after a long ride .short rides it won't leak quite as bad .but the growling noise is constant that primary shaft is always Turing .to tight a belt with a high torque motor beats the crap out of a inner primary bearing.

    Ok.
    Ok.
Now I think we may be on to something. Every once in a great while I will have the symptom that you describe above about the oil drips. In fact when I was in Grand Rapids earlier this month the primary was leaking and I thought that is was leaking right from and how you describe. At the plug.

HRK, Should I be looking at the top. Of the primary or the bottom? I am am assuming bottom since you suggest using a mirror.

Back of primary bottom right behind the clutch hub right across from the front of drive pulley .leaks when it's on the side stand more than when your riding .look at the lower portion of the left bag with a flash light you will see light sprinklesource of oil droplets against the black paint .and also on the belt guard.

I just looked now and yep, there is a puddle of oil there.

On the floor and under clutch hub.

Yep your race walked towards the trany and the seal has very little to ride on and the bearing also.if it's not your noise it needs to be fixed any ways simple to do takes better part of a day . Most of the tools you have .I suggest the sns race do not use the harley race it will walk in again.don't ask how I know.

Change all seals behind the inner primary and check all bearings including the main bearing seal on the drive side of the trany .and everything that you can get your hands on while it's apart.

I eliminated the two piece bearing and race on my 124
Never had a problem with it in ten years and that inner race can't walk ever because it's gone

I get a drop or two of tranny oil on the floor by the primary after a ride. I'm assuming that is the tranny drive shaft seal. Maybe this winter I'll pull the primary all apart to check it out.

Dude I had no luck with it the bearing lock up on me and spun in the case I was so pissed off maybe it was a fluke but it happens . I put the sns race in and ran the harley bearing no more issues . I wish that bearing would have held up it would have been great to never have to worry about the inner race walking towards the driven gear

Me either .I thought it was the best thing to do. also kinda the same set up my brother had on his shovel with the open primary and belt drive he never had an issue with the seald bearing .I don't know just my luck if I tell him to use it and it locks up I'll have shit on my face .I know the sns race worked and I never had an issue with it walking .Sachs just puts a spot weld on the shaft with a tig welder and it works for him with the stock race .but if you ever have to service the trany now your grinding the weld off.
