He uses it in the engine where that does not affect the clutch. They have a oil specific for tranny and Primary.

I was figuring you got a dud Gaterman ....Wouldn't think HD oil would be lacking zinc...
I did switch to Synthetic motor oil for the TC...Using Valvoline VR1 20-50 which is blue and B&M trick shift in the primary(red) and regular colored gear oil in the tranny...That way when there's a drip under the bike I put a sheet of printer paper down and see what color drops onto it;)

As soon as catalytic converters were installed in bikes zink and phosphorus had to be lowered to keep from destroying the catalyst material. Also happened in the automotive industry. That's why now you are seeing so many failed with cam and lifters. Most engine oils you buy off the shelf have very little zddp. Only special oils and racing oils have zddp added.Google it you can read it for yourself

Lucas assembly lube is an excellent product with lots of zddp for cam and lifter assembly.

I forgot about cats in bikes now,I knew about it in the auto industry...Damn EPA,they're ruining everything:mad:...Guess it'll be Valvoline racing oil all around for me when I run out of the few cases of Castrol and Lucas fossil for the Evo,made the switch to Syn with the TC,I didn't realize how much hotter the TC's are compared to the Evo until I got to ride both back to back,Syn oil in a TC is the way to go with them, even where I live....

    Wow !

I'm too old to drink that much.
Hope you had a good time.
I'd have a hangover from Hell if I drank that much last nite.

No, not building my garage, nor am I riding yet. I am going to fix this one last time but this time using a diffeent cam. I have the cam set ordered along with new lifters, some Indeain Head Shellac, Lucas Assembly lube and a die grinder kit. Once all of this stuff arrives, it will be running.

Today I should have most my bike completed and put together. I just need to get the new cams pressed into the plate. All else is ready to go.

Lucifer, this cam wasn't my first choice but listening to Paul and others, I came to the conclusion that this ultimately is the best way to go. I will give it a try and see how it goes.;)
