I've had these on for 2 years now and still love them. Paid $700 from Denis Kirk and they came with a big (removable baffle). Way too loud without the baffle, but the performance increase was awesome. First time out, bike did a wheelie going into 2nd gear!

I put the baffle in but still too loud, so I wrapped fiberglass around it and now it sounds just right. I did install a V&H FuelPak at the same time though. The black ceramic coating still looks like new even with over 80,000 miles.

Thanks Mountaincruiser. It's all stock, but I like it for being such a good long-distance tourer while still looking a bit sporty.

I made a few small changes like chrome plating the stock wheels; polishing the brake rotors; ditching the big front crash bar and adding black rear bars; black chrome plating on backrest and luggage rack, foot brake lever, shifter and linkage. All this was to give it a slimmer silhouette.

I'm thinking of having some subtle stripes painted on the Black Pearl tins. What do you think?

Prodrag, I don't know what power increase I got by adding the Rineharts, but now it will easily outrun my friend's CVO RoadGlide with the 110 motor, and it will pull to an honest 135 mph. I think the biggest difference came from the 2 into 1 pipes. But I also added a K&N RK airfilter and V&H FuelPak, so I don't know.

Yes, I think real subtle contrast sets it off. You don't even realize what makes it, it just works. My bike has real subtle ghost flames... in a picture you can not see them . In the shade, they look ever so slightly darker, but you have to be up close to see them. In the sun they go bright and pop at you... really cool without doing the flame thing. Guy who did it tried 3 or 4 combinations of paint before we settled on it.

When I go to a bagger, something like yours will be where I go. Love the black pipes!

I think we need some photos of your bike. Can't see it in that small window.

For mine, I'm thinking about simple royal blue and dark silver stripes flowing from the fairing, across the tank and down back fender. Also remove the ugly tank badge and having "Harley Davidson" painted in blue and silver. Nothing fancy though.

Don't sell the Road Glide short there MC. I like the looks of the Street Glide but just in my opinion, I think that the Road Glide handles way better, but you are the one that has to know.

After riding my bike 410 miles yesterday I am considering a 2-1 exhaust. I brought it up to Hot Rider and she doesn't want me to change what it is that I have on it. So I won't I guess for now..

    Is that a Sundowner seat?
I'm thinking of pin strips too, i'd like orange to go with the Dark Blue Pearl, will probably settle for white or lighter blue,

Yes, it's a Sundowner.....big, but very comfortable for all day riding.

Orange stripes would compliment the dark blue base nicely. Or if you like more subtle accent, try dark silver (gunmetal) with a thin orange pin stripe. I wish there was a way to see these diff. stripes without having to paint it first.

I've got a sundowner on the fatboy and like it very much, am affarid that one on the street glide would set to high. How different in height is it than the stock seat?
Orange would really pop on the blue but I'm not a football fan and wouldn't want to give that impression by doing the blue and orange thing.

I've also been thinking about the fuelpak from V&H, so many choices out there. :banghead:

Why do you think a RG handles better? They're practically identical machines. Not to put down your notion of handling, but a SG comes with a lowered and tighter suspension than a RG, which translates to sharper handling in the curves (that's why a Sporty is "King of the curves"). Longer shocks (RG) make for softer ride, not better handling.

Congrats on your purchase Johnny. You both will love this bike on a long trip. And Black Cherry has always been my favorite H-D color.

For the rider, it's the same height only wider with more of a "butt holder" pocket. The passenger gets a huge seat compared to the stock SG seat, which was almost unbearable I am told.

I was thinking of a very thin (1/8") orange stripe next to the dark silver stripe (maybe 1/4" wide) for accent.

V&H FuelPak works good with my pipes. Runs much cooler, better throttle response, and never pops on decel. And I trust V&H products. Wish I knew how much power it added, but never had it on the dyno.

As far as the FuelPak; Make sure V&H has a map for your engine, pipes, air cleaner, and any other engine mod. You can check that on their website. IF they don't have your listing, they say to call them. I can say for certain that when you call them it becomes a guessing game with them trying to find a map that will work. Just a word to the wise. I went through hell with them. Now I run a Power Commander from FuelMoto and it works Great. Thanks to HRK recommending them. Two buds also are now running PC's from FuelMoto and they are very happy with them. The nice thing about the PC is that at a later date you can have the bike dyno'd and fine tuned IF needed.

Sundowner Seat: I have three seats for my Fatboy (all three from previous owner) The Sundowner raises my arse up about 1/2" higher than the stock saddle but it is more cmfortable for me but especially the wife.

That's a beauty MC. It's the exact bike I almost bought in '07, but someone saw me sitting on it and bought it out from under me! I went home with a Dyna LowRider instead, which I still have.

I can't see those ghost flames though. Must be very faint.

I've got the Sundowner on both my bikes and wouldn't have anything else. As for the PC3 or 5, I'm sure the're fine, but you've got $1,000 in that set-up where the V&H cost less than $200 for each bike.
