If you lived in Northern Wisconsin and rode high performance snowmobiles balls to the walls in the woods on a trail 10 feet wide, you would realize a fixed light does not matter, the machines and Roadglides lighting are made to have full visual lighting at any speed at anytime. I have no trouble losing the road because of a fixed light no matter what speed, but I wont be taking my RG in the woods... I hope!

Like I said. I got buddy's with Road Glides. I have Demo's and rode road glides for 3 yrs.
Thought I wanted one but I realized after riding a SE road Glide and got off on a SE SG I like batwing better.

And I just bought a new 11 limited a year ago. Could of bought any Harley I wanted.
I deceided on a limited. Glad I did.
I would not be a Happy road glide owner.

Never thought I'd like heated grips. But I can wear thinner gloves and be comfortable
Can't even remember what all I like on the bike.

    !!

OK, have read every post on this thread, but this one finally made my mind up... would it be a shark nose or a bat wing... nope, my favorite is a chicken wing... with cold red neck bud! And every time I buy one, I enjoy it :roflmao:

Do you cook on the grill ?
I see you have a HEB grocery stores in Canton, North Carolina.

Go there and git some Chicken thighs.
And some HEB brand japaleno sausage and some flour tortias.
Find some slap yo mama seasoning.
Put some Redneck Budweiser on ice.

Take the skin off the chicken. Put slap yo mama all over it.
Start cookin it, then throw the sausage on it.
When the sausage starts cookiin cut it down the center to let some of the juices come out.
When they are both done. throw some flour tortias in the grill.
Put chicken and sausage on the tortias and tell me what they taste like.

No Paul, it was not you. Someone else further back in this thread.

It does not matter if you can prove that something is better or worse, you can't change someone's mind if they don't like what you're proving. That does'nt bother me at all. I've always said "actions and results speak louder than words".

I don't care what you ride. It should be yer choice.

But if you ride behind a Fairing for a while and go back to a bike without a fairing.
    Everything will speak for itself.

Ride a Bike all day without a fairing. Do some interstate riding and Hiway speeds.
Now do the same ride with a fairing. Tell me what you think.
If you have to rent a bike, go rent one.

Good point about riding all day without a fairing - you can feel pretty beat up at the end of the day without one. Or exhilarated. Either way, that's motorcycling! I didn't realize there could be so many diverse opinions about fairings, though.
Since I have never ridden with one, I suppose I oughta keep my opinions to myself!:roflmao:

You and I are definitely the same on that one, I have never ridden one any real distance, so I am keeping my mouth shut too.... ;)

We left Livingston and rode to Big Bend State park
750 miles in a day, even with a fairing I was beat up.
When we hit Kerrville the speedlimit is 80. I ran that all way to Ft Stockton.

I ride sporty every now and then. I can feel the pressure that it puts on me.
And the bugs beat me up too.

Wind pressure & bugs to be expected. Head winds are bad. Head winds plus bugs is worse. Sometimes have to slow down a bit til the wind changes or the bugs get smaller. Ha-ha!

If you get on some of the roads here and slow down the traffic will push you off the road.
