I can imagine, its why I don't run the interstates very much. I26, the I95 to get from NC to Florida is like that, you gotta run fast and tight. Dont think I could run as fast as you do, 80 would beat me up. When I went to Daytona last, took US-1.

    Its part of riding.
I live out in the sticks, and to git to places you got to cross the interstate and git on the interstate.
Guess you ain't gonna like taking a trip nowhere. Cause it will involve gettin on a interstate.
Lots of places to eat and see on or near a interstate.
Everybody ain't gonna build a place in the sticks for you to come and visit.

I traded my FXST(no fairing) for my FHLX. Now when I must use interstes it's MUCH easier on me. I much prefer not interstates though.

I suppose that's true just about anywhere. They usually go around me, though!

I can to hundreds of miles out of the way to get somewhere cause I don't want to ride the interstate.
And I'm gonna have to hunt for a lot of service stations.
The trip I would go on will be cut short cause I don't like interstates.
And a lot of stuff I wanted to see will have to be marked off the list.
Got a bike that I can do whatever kind of riding I want except for dirt.
Can't get enought time to go somewhere now.
Know when I went to Big Bend, if I didn't want to ride INterstate I would of had to cut a 4 day ride that was over 2000 miles shorter than what I did.
And I rode all the time as it was and at high speeds.
    Why limit myself .

Yep, it is hard to stay off all together, but it does depend on where you live and ride and what you like. Around here, 3 interstates cut through town, you bout have to use them some to get anywhere. But, some of the best riding, folks come from all around to ride here, is two lane and 4 lane state highways. Asheville to Daytona, great roads without interstate and no big detours. Yep, took longer, but rides prettier and more fun than I-95... and no big trucks. US 1 cuts straight down through Georgia about half way between I-95 and I-75. Everybody gotta do their thing. :)

Great pic, CB. 55 - 65 is fast enough for me these days. Used to go 70 - 75 all day long, day after day on my old ironhead cross country. I don't know how I did it.:D

I wore a Buco bubble shield with a 3/4 Bell helmet in those days. Leather jacket.

Nope. Never rode a bagger. The biggest bike I ever rode is the bobber I have now. 1200 CCs is big enough for me, and fast enough, too.

I started ridin bikes in 64
I was limited to CC then cause I was 14
Owned and rode old Panhead baggers
    That had been changed
Owned and rode shovels during their day

You should rent a bagger just for kicks
Take it out for a day and try it
Tell me what it is like

Tell ya, while I like my RG

I'd rather be riding my old 124 heritage, even on a longer
ride, 14 inch apes, lowered corbin seat, 140 HP, had the windshield
on, 6 speed, lean back, arms up, dang more comfortable...

YOu know you can go trade and build a bike just like it or find one already build.
You ain't got to ride a cadillac.

I left the bagger and tried to go back and ride a young mans bike.
It kicked my butt on longer rides.

rear tire and converting it to a Heritageboy... Windshield, bags, and 120R...

I have a place in Alaska that I ride to twice a year. 2,600 miles in 3 days, and it's almost all interstate. But the interstates in western states (especially going north through Wyoming and Montana) are fairly light traffic, and you can run 100 mph for long stretches.

When you get into Northwestern Canada, there is NO traffic and the highway is beautiful. Very easy to peg the speedo. Just have to watch out for moose since they like to stand on the highway.

Nice pics, Alex. Those look like the kind of roads you can really go fast on.
