Just gonna say. when I handed the broken brackets to the parts guy at Harley I asked him if he ever saw this. He said "Oh ALL the time". I'm done. Take it or leave it.

I'll leave it cause you're the first that I have ever heard of this. Got a friend that had to have two brackets replaced because he hit a women head on. Homeless women who ran out in front of him, cops said they thought she was on drugs. She damaged the brackets and he scraped it up when he fell over, but she got up and ran off. Other than that your the first I've ever heard of it. :) Have heard of the shark nose having problems but never the bat wing.

I think that HRK and myself have seen the light and have obeyed. I think Charlie46 and Fatboy128 are on their way. :D

Hey Cardboard, read the article and you will find out that what you said is backwards.

By the way, I don't care what anyone rides, as long as it has two wheels.

    Ride what you like. :D

Seen the light, dude you have never owned at bike with a batwing fairing so you have no personally experience. Riding one once don't count. I know riders who had the shark and went back to the batwing.

    Been ring motorcycles since 64

I do not need a article to tell me things about a motorcycle and or what I should buy. And if you are right or wrong or If I am.

Nothin is bullet proof. The bike don't break down if the brackets break.
The brackets break from vibration. When you replace them use a little stronger material.
You can use hurricane straps and make it out of them and git some small bolts and washers and locknuts and make yer own. Its simple.

BAGGER-PARTS.COM | Stop the Shake and Rattle of your Harley Fair

If vibration bothers you. Mabe you should be riding a Goldwing.

Mabe just mabe yer riding the wong brand of bike. That's why they make so many.
My Ol and me likes the vibration from a Harley.

Articles or people don't think for me. I don't do what Big Brother says to do.
I do not believe in Big Brother or folks sittin in offices writtin articles for you to get yer panties in a wad. I have worked at a Bike shop and know what goes on.
I have enough common sense to do things for myself.

My wife used to think I was wild. She introduced me to a couple of her professors when she was in college.
They assured her I am one of the few people who are normal and I have a tremendous amount of common sense, and me going to college in their opinion would hurt me.

No need to make a Big Deal out of nothin

Look at how many after market folks make fairing,
    What kind do they make

Goldwings are not all they are cracked up to be, hot, riding position is cramped with feet tucked in, you end up leaning forward, lots of power, sounds good with right pipes, fun but hotter than ANY harley I've ridden including my124, Raced my buds GW with my 124, from a light, smoked him, rolling on at 70 he jumped me a bit in 5th and I reeled him in and smoked him, same for his big HP Beemer KL, just left it sitting....

GW would pull front wheel easy, but my RG will do the same.

I've had the bats, they are fine but I like the RG dash being out there
better feeling for me, more room and on the freeway it's waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better
    in the wind...

There I'm right, ya'll are wrong...

I am so glad that I took your advice on the Road Glide HRK. It is so much nicer than the bat. I agree, I like how the dash is out further in front of you as well, I don't have to hunch over or scoot back to see my gauges, no helmet buffeting either from the stock wind blocker either, just a perfect machine.
