It's not the wind that hurts...got 40 years of it under my belt and will get 40 more if I can help it, it's just a fact plain and simple, frame mounted fairings are more stable then fork mounted! As for the fact of what looks better or worse, blah, blah,blah... it is up to the person, I have built custom choppers that the "average" rider would of not seen the sense in riding and perhaps thought "ugly" compared to a dresser, but I won several ride in shows, but back to the facts, a Roadglide is more stable then a "batwing" and will tolerate higher speeds with crosswinds, headwindwinds, etc.

Every time I walk into a HD dealership I see more batwings than Sharks. so that tells me the sharks are outselling the batwings. They can't keep em in the show room............

Man, I never realized my life was so simple! I have no radio to worry about whether my arms or fingers are long enough to reach the radio, cd, Ipod, Iphone, CB or intercom buttons and I don't have either a Batwing or a Shark Nose to worry about any extended discussions about which one is better. I just have to worry about whether or not to ride with the windshield on or off.

Now that I think about it, YEAH I'M JEALOUS!! :cussing:

I'm glad Harley riders are loyal to their ride, Sharknose, Batwing, whatever. If we just wanted to have a motorcycle and didnt think enough about our bikes to debate issues we would be Honda riders!

Yeah man, thousands of miles over the years. I had Vetter Windjammers on my Goldwing and Suzuki. Did more than 30,000 miles in one year on the Wing. I love the Vetter (frame mount boys).

I also had Silohette handlebar mount fairing (they were all clear but very similar shaped to the Batwing.

My 'Wing. I gotta tell ya, I loved the old 'Wing.
