Maybe the float level is too low, starving the engine of fuel at WOT....What size is the engine??What cam ?? and what carb??

Could it be the ignition that is going bad past a certain point? Sounds like you are losing electricity. Just a thought?

Float is fine, put the 195 back in, still flutters at 3/4 to full throttle!
Could be ignition, but how do check that?
Time to call the dealer I guess.

Did you check the vac lines??
I don't know how the vacuum petcocks work...is it possible for it to have a vac leak and still flow fuel, but not enough so your bowl doesn't fill quick enough to run WOT ?? any thoughts on it??

Since it is an 01, this bike is equipped with a VOES. It really does sound like it could be this because the VOES sends the signal based on vacuum.

See tech Tips for a better description of VOES, again just another thought or area to look in.

Here is another explanation of what a VOES does. This is from a different forum that I thought explains what the function of a VOES is. VOES Switch Explained - Harley Davidson Community

The VOES, at least on my bike is located on the back side of my left motor mount and has a vacuum line that runs to the carb. I am assuming that since you have changed the cams that you ride more aggressively on the lower end? If this is true, you would be using your VOES a lot on the lower end. Just a thought.

So here is what I found out last night, I had the 190 main with 48 idle, still missing at wot,
when it was doing it I pulled the choke out to see if was lean, no change. Someone told me to pull the air cleaner off to check richness, And it ran great, Saying it was to rich, so I am going to try a 185 and a 180.

i would change the aircleaner........it is starving the engine for air.......jetting is not your problem and wont help if ya do rejet, you will still be starving the engine for air.........remember an engine is just like an aircompressor......

Maybe the filter is pluged up somehow
or for some reason it doesn't flow enough air

Maybe you blocked the vacuum port on the carb installing the HB and the slide wasn't lifting right...something not right.. shouldn't be choking it with a free flow breather kit on
