:oops:Busted!!How'd you know I'm a Lefty... Bunch of red neck buds too....

I was looking at my parts catalog in my inebriated state... one end of the fuel filter has the hose from the fuel pump attached to filter nipple and the other end of the filter plugs into the regulator housing which houses the regulator and feed hose to the quick connect on the tank to supply the injectors...Didn't see anything labeled as a "Fuel filter Housing" so I assumed they meant the Regulator housing...unless it was one of the nipples on your fuel filter that cracked:confused:

Well, My Indy went down to Harley to check up on my bike. They told him yesterday that it would run at idle after they put in the new Filter housing and filter but it had the engine light on and it wouldn't rev up. Indy told them to start it, it started, Indy grabbed throttle and reved it up several times. Guess what? No engine light. WTF. He told them pack it up, paid them $140 for their part and hauled it away. I just test rode it myself. Runs fine. Reset the codes, rode it again-no codes. Looks like H-D was trying to stick me for another $80 to run their diagnostics again. P.S. They didn't have the used parts to show him. That my friends is why I HATE going to Harley for anything.

    What dealer....

I've never gotten used parts back from a dealer, although it's not a bad idea
from a CS standpoint. Plus you have to consider your indy having to take it to a dealer is in kind of a pinch because it's something he can't fix for you ever and he knows it.. So he has to save face somehow...

Well I'm just glad that the sheet storm is over. $400 total. I don't think Indy made $50 after what he spent on parts(I didn't need), but at least I got a spare Enigine Heat sensor,MAP sensor, Crank trigger. May come in handy for a buddy some day.:mask:

Guess what ? out last night on bike just enjoying a ride, puttin to my favorite watering hole. Decompressing from other worries, really feeling the stress lessening, notice the little red key on the dash comes on. But the ole girl is running fine. Now try to go home. Won't start@*&#%$. It seems the guys never secured my security system antena and it fell down, hit the road and is gone. Now gotta wait 'till it get's here from Ronnies H-D as no local dealer's got one in stock. Jeeez! How 'bout a break!

Dealer should send his wrenches back to school - if they ever went in the first place. Or maybe random drug testing . . . :(.

Some dealerships are good as gold and others, well, not so good. I've heard from other riders that the one in Rocky Mount is a good one, although they won't touch my shovel with a 39 and a half foot pole LOL. Bunch of grinches over there o_O.
