Cellphone service is bad. Many towers knocked out. Takes forever to post pics. Email from cellphones almost impossible. This storm set records bros. I consider my wife and myself bless'd since no trees hit house. The house is ringed by my fallen massive oaks that I thought would never fall. Indeed we are one of the few with electric! Thanks for your thoughts and prayers.

Dang, Fatboy, what a disaster. At least you and your wife are okay. Do you still have power? We only got some rain and gusts to around 40, 50 MPH here - we were right on the western edge of it.

Made it to work...Had to drive because all mass transit is down...No power at home since 8:15 Monday evening and don't expect to get it back for 7 to 10 days minimum...We are so lucky...Our area looks like it got bombed...People with portions of their roof blown off...Trees taking out a portion of your house...Big ass pine tree almost took out the living room...Missed by 15 feet or so...That is it for now...Got a chit load of work to do...

Saw the devastation in the news which by no means gives you a whole picture like actually being there but, it really looked bad. It's going to be a long time with the clean up and rebuilding.

Fatboy glad you guys are OK, looks like the truck is a definite total, sorry for you. Good luck in the cleanup.

Glad you are ok, yep that's the norm with hurricanes

    No Power
Downed trees (trees you never thought you'd see move)
    crushed cars, houses, blocked streets,
    no gas,
no money _ no gas - no atm - no cash,
no power - no cc use.
Hope you got some green out before the storm.

And remember Fu(k Albany and da city and the politicians,
carry a loaded gun if you got cash.. or at least keep one handy

fuggin looters are out based on the news...

We know the drill here, folks up there probably not as well. but they won't forget

    1) Power out means more than spoiled food and hot or cold nights at home, it means ATM's don't work, CC machines don't work, gas pumps can't run, think basics think about what you'll need.
    2) fill up some spare 5 gallon cans of gas right before the storm, you'll need it to either fill the car if it was really bad, or, to run a generator.
    3) Fill up the cars with gas.
    4) got propane or LP, fill the tanks all of them
    5) get a generator and put a transfer switch on the power
feed so you can run it straight to the house and run your fridge, lights
    tv and radio
    6) get an old style TV antenna from radio shack, when the cables out
you get nothing, sat dishes might still work, but it's wise to get an HD
    ready standard antenna. cheap.
    7) Fill the bathtubs with fresh clean water. if water supply is down you have
good clean water to drink, fill the toilet tanks for flushing. designate one as a pisser
because you can fill it with a lot of piss and flush once.
    8) gun- bullets, nuff said
    9) condoms - you don't want a larger family right LOL Ain't a lot to do with no power.
    10) Chainsaw, extra blades, you might be ok but a neighbor might need help
    11) tapcons and hammer drill and 3/4 thick plywood, cut to cover windows. a 150 mph wind can push a 2x4 right through that thin wood, 3/4 is min needed.

12)Cigars and beer/scotch/vodka. Why be miserable... you aint going ta woik...

Well wife and I are fortunate; today we got our electric, internet and land line back up and running. We can't have the trees removed until the insurance adjuster gets to see em. That could be a long time since we aren't the hardest hit. We can now watch TV and discover just how fortunate we are. So many areas in the region look like Katrina damage. I was in New Orleans a month or two after Katrina to consult on repairs to the SuperDome and other structures. Staten Island and the south western end of Long Island experienced over 7 feet of Atlantic Ocean in the streets. The tunnels around Manhattan totally flooded. Lower Manhattan under water. Subways tubes and stations totally flooded. New Jersey Shore devastated. Whole new coastlines formed. The death toll rises hour by hour. Certainly more died in New Orleans but unlike there, here many more people got the hell out of Dodge.

I'm waiting for a rental car but there is an extreme shortage of them since so many people lost their vehicles. So, like in the old days, my bike will be my main source of transportation. I just got to watch the intersections since there are no traffic lights operating yet. It's a free-for-all on the roads.

Again, thank you for all your kind thoughts and prayers.

BTW, the earlier photo of my explorer is now out dated. It is flatter now. Over the past 2 days the trees and gravity have been busy on it. I'll see if I can post a later photo. It truly is a twisted, flattened wreck now. I'm concerned about the fuel tank since I filled it to the brim just before the storm, I hope it doesn't puncture.

For some odd reason I can't post (attach) photos anymore. I reduced them to less than 200 but they won't go. :wtf:

I viewed them and they showed up? The second one was really small and a bit blurry but the first set came through.
I would say that your Explorer is now an exploder. Sure hope it all works out for you.
