Youngest son and his wife and 7 mo. old twins near Langhorne, PA lost major size pines that took out the power line feed for him and his neighbors. Still without power, water, heat phones. Had to move out to an uncle in laws. We can't get there from here either.
    This storm was truly epic.

Yep, saw it on the news. Looks like there might be something to the doomsday, earth warming, we're all gonna die theories. Not much, but something. They have been predicting a storm such as Sandy where NYC gets flooded. I do believe that the warming is a normal occurance though. If we get hit with a storm even half the size of Sandy, might as well close down NY and NJ.

Obama is doing it to change the election date!
    LOL

Now the next one is named Tony, how fookin appropriate for one
headed ta da nortd east, yo Tony you fookin blowhard fat arsed
    piec-o-shidt... Just saying.. ya know...

Y'all hang in there, I went through 3 storms in a row
in 04... Survived em all, hopefully you can get the stuff
    cleaned out.

FB you got a chainsaw? I bet you have a tough time getting
a rep to the house, they will be shipping in adjusters and they
    usually are pretty good.

Contact FEMA for your free****, lott folks here got generators, chainsaws
etc paid for by FEMA. See if you can do that, all you need is to provide receipts
showing bought in that time frame when power is out and trees are down.

Contact insurance about getting tree off car full of gas in garage or do they
want you to wait and call them back for complete house fire when tank ruptures and
burns it down... I'd say an adjuster will be there asap...

You could disconnect the fuel line and if you have some empty 5 gallon cans drain down the tank, heck that's $100 worth of fuel...

Wish I could get the gas out. 21 gals. Can't got hood open tree across hood. Two more trees across roof I can get arm through drivers side window only. All tires blown chassis on the ground. Can't get under to get to tank. Gas filler basher in with tree trunk against it. Useless.

Do you have a chainsaw? Gas could come in handy for a generator.

Sorry to hear that your still surrounded by trials and tribulations. Trying to stay focused on the things we have rather than don't have becomes harder each passing day. My house got electric back so we loaned out the generator which then took a crap after a couple of days. I'll be working on it today trying to get it running aain for the family that needs it.
The insurance adjusters are up to their eyeballs in work. Naturally they do the worst areas (homes/businesses) first. So my truck sits under 3 oaks. Meanwhile I have $30 a day for renting a micro cage for 30 days.
We still have very, very long gas lines. I am fortunate that I still have 15 gals that was slated for the generator. The wife just left for work with 2 other teachers (carpooling now). If need be, that 15 gals could last a couple of weeks maybe. Our son and his family in PA are out of their house now a week. Thankfully his wifes uncle took them in. They hope that electric comes back today.
Hang in there marc. Wish I were closer to help ya out.

Thanx...We will get through it...I did not think PA was that bad...BIL & SIL drove out from Pitts. to get the MIL (I owe them big time) and had no problem until Allentown where they started to see gas lines...They say South of I95 there is plenty of gas...

Worst part about the storms is the surge of water
that comes with them, that's why so much damage on the coast of Jersey
that's right where the water is moved in front of the storms.

Next is tree damage and wind damage, you get tons and tons
of rain, making the ground so wet trees can't stay put, big winds
and top heavy trees, then power goes out.

Problem is youse guys are living on top of each other up there
and you got a lot of older trees and older homes and buildings
that are not up to "hurricane" code, so you take a big hit from
    the storm..

Power restoration isn't as simple as some folks think, you can't just
go into an area and hook back up to the grid, you have to be sure
you won't burn down the houses in the grid, and businesses, find gas
    leaks etc.

It takes time but it will clean up, check with FEMA, when we had assistance
down here they would reimburse you for expenses to clean up with trees down and
generators (if you can find one.) Paid for my chainsaw and generator (#gotmyfreegeorgebush****) as we had a few trees down and no power for over 10 days.

I got lucky and bought a generator, left it boxed up just in case before
the storms hit in 04. Still got it, if I could get it to youse guys I would
but it'd cost as much as a generator.

Hate to say it but you could poke a hole in the tank on the exploder and
drain the fuel, that'd be twenty more gallons for ya... just be safe.

Watch out too for the hucksters sorry, wait, wrong state, goombahs and shysters
we call the gypsy workers, they will fu(k you out of money fast, if you have older
relatives with issues on trees etc WATCH OUT for them, these guys show up, charge
big money to remove a tree, and then pile it in your yard or fug stuff up, there is
so much work they can move through fast and make a bundle. So mind who you deal with, tree service, roofers, whatever..

If you have damage, get pictures, when you call insurance ask them if pictures will suffice for proof of tree damage or if you'll have to wait. You can clean up some stuff
so you can get to the windows and doors.

    Good luck up there.

HRK, the "exploder" is all the way down onto the ground. the tank is un reachable from under/ All 4 tires exploded from the weight. The suspension is flattend, the chasis is sitting on and into the ground. One oak is across da hood n pushing down on da motor. Can't git under da hood no how. Until they get the 3 oaks off da car dere aint no f n way ta git ta da gas. End of story on da gas in da exploder.

Tree guys are the carpet baggers of the north now. swarms of deese so called tree experts hovering.

Fema aint here on da north shore. dey are too busy wid da south shore where da peoples lost everyding.

Yeah you gotta just hang in, check FEMA web site, if you get a
    chainsaw to cut stuff away.

Next thing to hit will be gougers, GAS prices way up, food prices
way up, supplies etc. Hotel rooms tripled in prices,

We have laws here, you do that crap in FL as a business to take
advantage of people in a post hurricane and you'll go to jail...
