That's where the "cheap fuelers" come in handy.....a little more expensive than a couple of jets and a needle for a carbed bike, but they do the same thing as a jet kit.

    thundermax

The Thundermax is suppose to be plug and play and fix it all for a big 900 price that don't exist...lol...lol...some day when there is enough potential buyers/owners of 08 ,09 and soon the 10 touring modles and they have the potential to "grease" their greedy pockets upfront the "developmemt" will be complete and here is your Grand unit!!!...lol..lol...greedy SOB's:roflmao:

Had a cheap fueler on my bike, when I tore it down to do the 103 it had so much carbon on it was like I was runnin Powdered Tide Laundery detergent. The pistons was coated.

Never again will I run a cheap tuner.:banghead:

cardboard...maybe it wasn't dialed in properly and/or your crank vent was still routed thru the intake having the oil mist sucked into the intake.
When I had the stock breather and freeflow pipes on I got 38-40MPG, the bike would barely hit 100MPH and it was as hot as Hades in the saddle, after the SE Breather V&H Ovals and the SE Fueler the mileage went up to 42-44 MPG it hit 110MPH with a passenger on and still had some throttle left and the heat in the saddle went down to Purgatory level and the torque increase is very noticeable. It was easier to dial in than a carb and really woke up the RK so I'd have to say it works for me.

Had a A/N Big Sucker Stage II air kit and Tw6-6 Woods cams, The bike run good to an extent. But not as well as the last bike with a Tm A/T on it.

No more cheap tuners for me. The tuner is one of the most important things on a bike.

I've had a power commander, have you used a SE EFI Super Tuner? What's your thoughts?

I have a '08 Ultra and I am still confused has to what would be a good tuner to get the best performance. I am not planning on modifying engine just V&H true duals , Monster Ovals and a Ness air cleaner. Just want it to be all it can be for a 96 inch engine.

I'll post my findings with the V&H Big Shot Duals, Hi-Flow Air Cleaner Kit and SE Super tuner combination.

    Don't mind my noviceness, but
I have seen videos where it appears they were adjusting the idle with something under the seat. Do know what they are using to adjust this?

The Thundermax replaces yer factory HD ecm box. it comes with wide band oxygen sensors.
The unit might seem expensive to a lot of folks. But its the best tuner I have ever used.
And it comes with free maps for life.
All you do is ride the bike and it tunes itself.

The cheap tuners won't touch a thundermax, and can't perform all the calculations that the Thundermax A/T does.

Buy a cheap tuner and take it and have it dynoed and see how much money you have saved.:banghead:

Thundermax does not make anything for '08 TBW.

My guess is that throttle by wire is probably a very involved software program in itself. Thundermax will have to consider 100 times more variables than a simple throttle feedback sensor like the cable throts. Thundermax has to control the throttle and HD surely isn't going to give up its engineering time on this which I am sure is extensive.

There are times when the computer is controlling the throttle based on temperature, baro and such without any input from the drivers wrist or handle bar sensor. It's not always the drivers wrist that controls the throttle anymore.

This is probably why it is taking TM so long to come up with a ECM for TBW. There is safety issues to consider as well.

Don’t know if it’s true or not but I saw an add in the latest Hot Bike Magazine that said Thundermax is now available for the 08-2010 models. If it’s not don’t blame me just an add I saw in a rag.

HarleysLR...its the same as it has been on your thundermax add...its avaliable for all the HD models excluding the touring models. Apparently HD only has TBW on the Touring Models. The web site at Thundermax has said last 2 years any day the Touring Models will have a unit avaliable.

Power Commander claims their auto tune module added to their PC5 will perform exactly the same as the auto tune Thundermax on the HD Touring Models TBW,but cannot say that is an accurate statement.....no one has posted any feedback I have read here on a Power Commander 5 with the Auto Tune add on. I had a PC3 on my 08 SG and it never performed as well as the V&H fuel-pak which is not saying much....lol....

Power Commander is Still a Piggy Back unit.

    Thundermax replaces the factory ECM.
