Try eating at the Waffle House, that will clean you out.
It's like eating in a gas station restroom that serves waffles.

man! i used to love wafflehouse...you just ruined it for me...great line tho.

what if i used 80" jugs and stacked 6 head gaskets. would be close. no leaks whatsoever on the head gaskets, really hate to break that seal.

thanks hrk, i will use the kitchen table while she's gone, and check with feeler gauges...only if a retorque fails

well, well, well...retorqued my rocker covers, put everything together and found out where the leak was really comming from. started very easily, was warming her up and discovered the front exhaust pushrod tube ooozing very steadily. i still have a rather high oil pressure, 40-45 psi, so i took my front tappet block off and found the oil hole on the cases partially blocked. cleared that and all the other oil passages. put it all together and still high pressure, and oil flowing from the front top pushrod tube. i am going to pull the rear tappet block and see if the oil port isn't blocked as well. God i hope it is so i can clear it and get on with riding. i am thinking 30-35 psi won't allow it to leak...hope, hope...

What type of pushrod tube seals are you using? I don't like the black o-ring type. They leak. I use the thick blue ones.
You can also put an oil line fitting in the block with a smaller orifice to restrict oil going up to the rockers. I had to do that once.
    Good luck.

the only roaches i like are illegal here...:(

i dont member what kinda oil pressure i had before, so its hard to compare since the rebuild.
sooo...i have a sealed primary, it was sealed before...i just made it look better with plugs instead of hoses with bolts in the ends. if the oil pump directs unneeded engine oil to the primary, would i relieve some pressure by putting a tee in the return line and inserting the primary feed line into it ???
i never changed the pushrod tubes during the build, so i have ordered new tubes...they come with rubber seals and springs. we'll see.

It's possible if the front one was partially blocked, the back one will be, too. I had an oil leak at the top of one of my push rod tubes and found it was only that it hadn't been seated correctly after doing the static timing. You have to be sure that top tube gets seated with even pressure all the way around. BTW, I have cork gaskets at either end of my tubes and they don't leak at all.

new tubes installed. expert at pushrod adjustment now. installed rubber gaskets that came with tubes. ran great...30 psi. just about to ride, and here goes the oil. shut her down, hope that the hot rocker cover will seat as it cools. try again 2mro. the new cork had leaked too, so i figured why not try the rubber.

i cleaned all the oil passages, double checked pressure regulator and check valve.
the oil line up to the rocker box is braided ss with a large opening at the cases and a small opening at the cover. box to box is the same, large opening on rear and small opening at front.

    any other suggestions...
