pre-masked, then installed. reason...the fender trim on the rear is sooo tight.
as it was stretched around to put screws in, it dug into the paint. i was so
pissed. wet sand and a little filler fixed it, decided i wasn't going through that
    again. worked and looked good.
i didn't do that with the tank. i jb welded the brackets, then finished.
    installed emblems after dry.
got my bearing puller from georges today. worked great !!
no chrome for the wheels, going to powdercoat tomorrow. black.
lower front shocks are going to be painted same as tins. so is oil tank...

Looking very spiffy! Great color, too! I tried painting my frame and tanks with a gloss black (rattle cans) and they came out pretty bad. So I resanded and went flat black. It was a copout, I know, but conditions in my shop are not conducive to painting, even after hanging buku yards of plastic everywhere. Your bike is going to look great when you finish. We like lots of pictures, so keep posting them!

    by thanksgiving.
got wheel bearing kits today, also new gas caps. fork seals and chain guard
    came also.
spent about a grand so far...engine and tranny will take all winter now.
will have to recoup...guessing about $500 for rebuild...hope, hope, hope.
too far to cheap out now.
i will have to say...she is looking sassy though...

neck cups and bearings are in. swingarm has new bearings and seals,
the wheel race tool worked great on this too.

wheels are still not done at powdercoat, hope for tomorrow.
i won't be able to get wheels balanced before thanksgiving either.
evidently my front and rear wheels are identical, i ordered a front and rear
set of bearings, so new part is on order. i think i have plenty to keep me busy.

    here are some teaser pics...

how can you install a fender with both forks on ?? i tried, but no way
without scratching fork tubes. i removed the right fork, installed fender,
    then put fork back on.

    well...more to follow.

Have you considered dyna beads for your wheels/tires? That way, there's no ugly ass lead weights on your rims. Tires last longer and wear more evenly and never go out of balance.

I put a thin towel over the fender and bring it up from the bottom of the forks.
