Greatly reduces blowby oil mist. Decrease crankcase pressure. Stops gasket leaks, reduces global warming, increases oil production offshore, eliminates gout, cures cancer, causes higher sexual desire in women when they ride bike, reduces vibration in mirrors, increases tread life, improves your sexual performance, if you find you ride more than 4 hours consult a proctologist for hemorrhoids, do not use if you are drinking or taking drugs or smoke pot, do not ride past cops with front wheel in air.

the dougherty power vent is nothing more than putting a PVC valve on your vent hose (which isnt a bad idea, but you dont need a 150.00 (or whatever) billit piece,go by the autoparts store and get a PCV valve with 3/8 nipple on both ends, make sure you install it so "open" is the right way)

Thanks Prodrag. I have a filter on the end on my vent hose so I don't see how the power vent would be any better. Sounds like a waste of money to me.

I'm running a short piece of hose straight to the atmosphere. I was using an EBOC ($85), but the maintenance was a PIA and the filter would sometimes get clogged. A PCV valve from the auto parts store wound be better than running a hose to the atmosphere? I'm skeptical . . .

Nearly everyone on the shovel forum run open hoses to the atmosphere.

All us dam shovelhead riders are causing global warming. :gah:
I prefer to have something such as a filter or PVC to keep things from getting back into the crankcase.

Global warming? Then I guess Algore (brother of Egore) will never ride a shovel - oh, well, his loss! Besides, he just wouldn't look right on a shovel anyway!

I have heard that if a shovel is sucking that much back in, something is bad wrong with the motor.

Found out today that the valve guides also have to be replaced. When Dennis was tapping the front plug hole for a helicoil, he broke the tap off. He got the broken piece out. Tattoo is going to fix that when the heads come back.

Man, it's always something with this old motor . . . at the rate the repairs are going, I might have the heads back by the end of the year
