South rim Grand Canyon

    Oh yeah. Saguaro cactus, sometimes called organ cactus and they grow to be very old and very big. Only found in that region of the country and northern Mexico.

    They only grow on the Sonora desert on a small patch of land. Something to do with the soil. They are all kin to each other.
    It takes like 50 yrs for one arm to be able to grow on the catus. Then you count the arms, and the height for calculating the age.
    It has some pretty bad thorn's on it.
    You would make a mistake if you fell on it

    So you reconized the saguaro catus.
    Have you seen this one. My sister in law bumped it with the back of her hand. She has like 20 thorns in her hand my Brother in law had to pull out.

    Can tell you I had the greatest time in my life .
    Didn't know I liked the desert so much.

    Folks in AZ have rocks in their yard. Don't like to cut grass or rake leaves.
    Most of the trees they have in their yard don't have leaves.
