other key is getting it set properly, the tool helps

Point is the sheeeeet goes all over the garage floor no matter how careful I try to be. Always end up using up my old T-shirts. Now u you get my drift?

I can definitely freeze the bearing but warming the case may prove a bit more challenging ;). Sorry for hijacking the thread, boys. The only thing I have to say about plugs is that I use Autolite 4265 plugs in my shovel, gapped at .028" and they work great.

ya, getting it started square is key with the tool or the old cam, once it's started square you're good, cam end fit in the bearing is good enough to hold it true, won't distort the bearing with the cam end in it...the tool is easier but hard to justify buying a one time use tool...If he didn't get the old cam back from Kirby,it's out anyway...He could probably make the tool out of hardwood instead of buying one...or check with Tattoo

I think Tattoo has a whole set of the bearing install tools. I haven't heard back from Kirby yet . . . he is no doubt very busy right now - or taking a break from work till after New Years LOL. I know I am.

Charlie, at least you don't have to pay HD high shop rates to do it. Yup, it can be messy . . .
