Well, that bike is gonna be a beast when the spring comes, with or without a MAP sensor, with or without fuel injection. 105hp, 105ft/lbs? Crazy cool!

It is time to freshen this thread up. I have decided against, mainly due to machining issues, not to go with a MAP based system. Other things that I have decided on is that I will be using the CV 44 and of course a Daytona Twin Tech ignition. I have purchased some small things for the project such as all needed oil lines, lifters, a new clutch cable and oil pump. Things that are yet needed on my end are the rockers, a few miscellaneous gaskets and ignition. I was flirting with the idea of switching to the Thunderstorm heads but because of some cosmetic differences, I am sticking with what I have.

It won't be that long and it will be time to crate the engine up and send it off to Idaho. ;)

I was on HTT asking about the transmission for my Road Glide wondering if there was something that I can do to strengthen the transmission as at some point there will be more power put to the tranny.

Now, I have heard from a lot of people that the Harley 5 Speed transmissions are pretty beefy in the Sportster but I will be adding more power. A member there pointed me towards this site. http://twistgear.net/page html/twistgear.html (this is for BIG TWINS) but the same concept is applied to the Sportster. (See Sportgear). This is what is bad about liking things to perform well. Interesting reading. And yes, I am going to consider this for the Sportster.

Today I picked up some parts for the Sportster. Only major items for me to purchase yet are carbĂ—2, ignition and the roller rockers. Time is getting close to get the work done.

Well. I was going to pick one up for BaggerPaul because I can get them really cheap. However Paul changed his mind so now I only need 1.

Saw a bike at the Rossmeyer museum in Daytona Beach with dual carb setup, neat to look at, but likely a pain to tune I suppose.

I know you and BP were just chittin' about dual carbs...1 CV44 should be enough for your Sporty...lol...

Here's an Edelbrock offering looks kinda cool....brings the carbs out front, kinda like your Heavy Breather air filter...

I don't have a Harley Heavy Breather on the Sportster?

Speaking of air intakes, I have been looking around for a different alternative in case mine isn't up to the task. Not a lot of choices available that's for sure.
