Heck I have Rugers, S&W, Springfield and Sigs and others. They are all good just trying to show him what models Springfield has and does not have so when he talks about and XDS he doesn't mean XDM or Vic versa.

Showed a few of my Buddy's my XDs 3.3 45
One called me and said his friend has a Springfield and said it jammed. Its a new pistol. He said I hear the XDs 45 kicks really Bad.
Said lets meet at a Pistol range.
Rode the bike to a pistol range and he brought a Xdm 3.8 compact he got last year.
But don't have much confidence in. He is a real good shooter too.
His friends jack with his head.
He shot his xdm 3.8 and shot super good.
Handed him my XDs 3.3 45 after I shot a chip thew it.
He shot 5 times. And turned and said. Man this Xds is super accurate.
And it don't kick that bad. I said it kicks like a 45. Other than that it don't kick.
And yer friend that had his pistol to jam he probably shoots with a limp wrist.
We shot over a box of shells threw the XDs 45 Bitone.
All he could say is I'm ordering one threw a friend . I love it. And I'm partial to the stainless so it will be the bitone one.

Two tone looks good, mine is just the standard finish.

Saw two used XDS 45 today at the local gun shop one was 419 and the two tone was 459.00. They both had the full kit with two mags and all the stuff.

Mine come as a kit. Gun 2 magazines. Holster, magazine carrier and all.

And I talked with 3 gun dealers.
And the recall that Springfield did. They did as a Precautionary measure.
And out of hundreds of thousands of pistols they found a problem with one.
And everybody that sent their pistol in they got a free magazine.

Lots of folks got scared and got rid of them.
Know a lot of people that wouldn't sent them in till they could get a new model XDs to tote.

The gun store I went to was sold out.
And another one said they had a 9mm but no 45's.
They said the XDs is selling very well.

They have lots of 45 XDS here. Like I said finding them used now. Go to the XD Springfield forum and you will find a lot of complaints about them. There are also others who say they don't have problems with them. I had nothing but problems with mine ( failure to feed, failure to eject, jamming ) I did solve the failure to feed problem by replacing the mag springs with precision springs.
Hope it works out well for you bulimia really happy now with my Sig 45.
My XDS 9mm is OK but nothing to brag about with its trigger. My Shield is far superior for 9mm. But like I said I'll keep my Sig 45 which is the same size as your XDS 45.

Got a LOT of friends carrying XDS and XDM and XD
Brother in law who was a full bird in the air force.
Had a Sig and a Springfield XD 40.
He carried the XD subcompact 40.

Guess you didn't call Springfield armory and let them look at it.

Said it once and I will say it again. Don't like S&W pistols.

You said a lot of people having problems with pistols.
Seen 2 people a instructor was working with today.
They got a limp wrist and would let the pistol they had snap back and make it stove pipe.
Instructor fired it over and over and showed them NOTING was wrong with the pistol It was them.
Another guy bought a new pistol.
What did he stick in it Hollow points.
    And he was having problems.
It was a Springfield. The instructed asked if he took time to read the manual.
    He said no.
Well if you had of read the manual it said to pull the slide back and lock it.
Load your magazine and put it in and hit the mag release and let the slide slam forward.

Instructor picked it up and fired 2 clips threw it of ball ammo and said nothing is wrong with the pistol
It needs to be shot 300 times or so to let it break in.

You have a lot of people that know nothin about a pistol And when they have a problem its the pistols fault.
One man turned his pistol barrel toward his head to look at the end of it.
I said what are you doing. point your pistol Down range.
Range master took him off the field.

Yes they do need to be broken in for sure and a guy with a limp wrist has more problems besides his pistol. ;).
However I know how to shoot and don't have that problem. I sent mine back to Springfield and they did say it had a problem. They tried to fix it but when I got it back same problem. That's when I decided to move on.
The standard XD line was good and fired every time, just kind of clunky and think that's why they came out with the XDM models, much better.
I just found I prefer my Sig and my Smith. Shoot my Ruger SR9C shoots extremely well and like the Smith its USA made as is my Sig

Enjoy your XD pistol there're not to bad a firearm.

Has some folks telling me to not oil my firing pin. I've always oiled them. All my Glocks and spring fields and everything got oil on it.
    Emailed Springfield.

For any striker fired handgun you do not want to oil the striker (Firing Pin) at all. It should be kept clean and dry. If you oil it, the oil will eventually slow the striker down enough to cause light strikes. Basically the oil creates a seal and doesn’t allow the striker to move forward fast enough to ignite the primer. So yes it is true that it is not a good idea to oil the striker on your XDS, XD, XDM, Glock, M&P or any other striker fired handgun.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

    Thank you,

ALso when cleaning don't hold the upper so that cleaning fluids can run down into the firing pin hole,

I was told to not use cleaning fluid on a polymer pistol.
    To only use Gun wash.
Then to use slide grease on the slide and put gun oil on the other parts.
And I spray Gun wash in the firing pin hole.

Lot different than the 60's when cleaning weapons.
And sticking them in 55 gallons cut in 1/2 with diesel fuel in them.

whatever substance you use, just saying don't spray it on the area of hte firing pin and turn it barrel end up or it will run down into the firing pin area..

Every once in a while take the firing pin out and clean it out with a q-tip or dry cloth...

Yep keep the striker channel free of oil. The first thing you should have done if you didn't was pull the striker out and clean the packing grease out of the channel. Springfield's are noted for coming with a lot of grease in the channel. When I clean mine I use a blaster spray to clean the slide and I use Tetra grease or the grease you told me about on the slide areas. I lightly oil some of the internals like the trigger area. I also put a dab of that grease around the barrel and rub it around it.
I really like my XDS 9mm great little pistol. I sold the one I had in 45 cause was having to many issues with it. I know some don't but I did but my 9mm is perfect.
