Glad your OK Cowboy, 400 pounds is a lot of weight to hit you.

Can't believe cardboard is still jacking around with that starter, with all the good weather you guys get year round I'd rather be out riding instead of pushing keys on the computer all day about some dirt bag starter. I think that's what can happen when you try to push the envelope with HP gains.

Its a long story and Chucktx knows it.
But don't think that's the problem.

When I got the 1st starter, I got a Oil leak. We pulled the primary and replaced the tranny seal, and all the seals in the primary and gaskets.
    I had chucktx help too.
    It still leaked.
Chucktx said to put tranny fluid in the primary.
    Not it poured out.
Come to find out the new starter was leakin out the Appendix.
    As was the next three.
Then I got another, it didn't leak but was makin a noise. Tried it out to see if it was gonna leak, well it didn't leak but the noise got worst and won't enguage anymore.
Been trying to git it replaced, but no luck yet.
Think I got a bad set of starters from Spyke.........
So I ordered a different mfg of starter. It will be her monday.........

Yeah - I can't wait to start modifying my engine so I can have enough horsepower to push all the other components past their design limit then spend all my time and money fixing them instead of riding - NOT

    Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

over 43,000 on a 08 motorcycle and I wasn't even suppose to be riding for the past year under Doctors orders.................
Don't think I'm sittin on my butt........
And a person does with their time what they want.........
If riding is all its about, keep up with me.
I fix em cause of how I ride them. I take em out and run they like they was stolen. I don't baby them. Never have..............
If its living life like everybody else it ain't gonna happen. I'm different.
I have the freedom to make my own choices. Not for them to be made for me
I liketo push the limit. A lot of folks will not ride with me..........
And a lot of people like riding with me.

And the 07 motorcycl I had 39,000 on it.
Probaly ride as much as anybody else on here.
On 3 motorcycles I've clocked over 85,000 in the last few years.

We got a women in our chapter who bought her 08 Ultra new and has 67,000 on it. Its got the stage one with pipes, air cleaner and a Race Tuner on it. Never been in the shop for mechanical repairs. She rides a lot, not fast like some but fast enough but she just likes being able to get on her bike and ride. Some people just want to be able to get on their ride and ride without having to always either work on it or be fixing it. :D

    No Brag just fact

I like to Hot Rod things. And you know what that brings.

Everybody has the freedom to do what they want to their bike and ride it how they want. Or sit at home on the sofa.
Don't see me out tellin you you gotta wear a helmet.

And Flht, did that woman have a appendix to bust on her to stop her from riding?
    And bet she don't work........

I been riding and the doc told me not to.
The 1st time I rode it took me 3 days to git over it. And I rode the wifes Sporty.

Had to have Chucktx to come over and Baby sit me, cause I couldn't do some things.

Interestingly she still works. Not a big women probably about 5.5 tall. She just spends a lot of her free time riding and not fixing.

Its what she chose to do.
Wonder what her OM was doing during that time.........

And when it was about 101* here I chose not to ride as much.
Wear a Full Crash helmet and I would git pretty Hot during that time.

    Pretty sure its both.... :roflmao:

I understand what he's saying about hopping up and going too far

00 Heritage went from 88 to 124, during that time the bike did well
up to a point as a pretty hot 95 the only big issue was brakes, only one up front and not enough for the 95 inch.. Fixed that with some PM's

Went 116 and that was good for a year an a half,
but it required a Rivera Pro Clutch, which with the gold spring
eventually broke the mainshaft bearing in the trap door by pulling the
back side of the door out, locking up the rear tire, not fun.

Then it broke a rod taking out the front and rear cyl, cases and bending a valve in the rear head. SNS fixed it (took 6 months just to get replacement cases with factory serial number) of course my dumb side took over and bumped it to 124, might as well, needed new rods, pistons and cyl.

That one didn't stay together 6 months and backed out and broke 5 of the 6 balancer cover hold down bolts. (No loctite was used), then they redid it, new cases, and again 6 months) and they got good TQ but not good clamp.

Anyway 12 + months chasing a new engine, had to put in new Jims Trap door with stronger case, rebuild trans, all new bearings, new clutch, new primary chain, brakes, etc...

There is adding to the engine and getting some more power, then there is the extreme. Where I like to live... :roflmao:

    You just ride less there....

After reading all that I know I couldn't afford to go crazy on the engine mods. Parts are a little cheaper here than they were a few years ago but they're still somewhat pricey. A nice low compression 103 would be enough for me.

Also think a lof of it might be how you ride the bike too.
But if yer like me you like to feel the power when you twist the throttle.
