    Yea, you're probably right!!

    what does the tank maker know, he only builds tanks for a living. He and I would probably just fill up every hundred or so miles and not worry about it.

    remember it's a gravity flow , so relocating just the tube wont work ,,do you have a pic of the other side where the valve is located? or you can try & lift the rear a little at a time & try to keep your look as well

    Hilarious! My ol' ironhead had a 2.2 gal. tank, I think. Ran out of gas (1972) somewhere outside Needles, Ca. headin' for the eastern seaboard. I miscalculated the milage, I guess. Nobody to call unless I wanted to talk to the scorpions and tarantulas. But a guy stopped in a pickup and we siphoned a little gas out of his truck and I made it to the next gas station. The guy wouldn't take a cent from me. Ain't America great?
