Johnny I did locksmith work for over 40 yrs. Most people don't think they need good deadbolts on their homes and business till somebody break's in.
Most people don't believe in guns till somebody comes in. So they don't think about it.
I've seen many people who have been robbed, beat up, stabbed, shot, women raped and all from going on jobs to secure property.
And then is when they start saying IF I had of just known. Or paid more attention, or gotten myself trained on how to use a weapon.
And I know nothing about a weapon.
When they go out to look at a weapon. They all look the same to them.

They don't understand the different size shells. Or how to conceal them.
They have to go threw the learning process themselves.
There are a lot of people that is just too much for them to take in and do.

And many people are scared of guns and will not have one in the house period.

JB, love metal guns. Polymer is ok but the feel of a well made gun is best to me

If you like them get your paws on a sig p239. Best carry metal there is. I have one in 9. Them come in 9 40 and if you want stopping power 357SIG. Hot round.

I have both Polymer and steel guns. They both work well and don't put down the Polymer they can be some very well made pistols and are great for carry because of weight.

Got a friend, ain't seem him in a while. He is a Sheriff that works at the pistol range. He trains the Police officers to shoot every year.
Once a year a police officer must shoot their weapon and requalify.
He likes the polymer pistols. Because he sees too many people that do not clean their weapons. And they do not lubricate them at all.
For that reason he leans more toward the Polymer pistol like the Glock.
You don't have to clean it or lubricate it. Its a polymer pistol and will shoot.
Its good to change the bullets out every so often.

Mabe if you are not super good with pistols you should think about this.
If you don't like it, its your choice.

And tote a pistol that is steel and tote a pistol that is polymer. See which one you tote for concealed carry the most.
All I'm getting here is my chops busted . I will never be with you. I don't care what you get. Or if you ever carry.

Hey it's like baggers, road glides and softails to each their own
and a firearm is a personal preference, some folks are glockers
all they talk is glock glock glock, kinda turns folks off, it was
partly why I would never buy one, even though they are fine
    tools.

Wanted 10mm and it was glock with the least cost way to
get one so I have a glock, it's a great 10mm gun I do like it
and I liked the XDm but never took it to the range maybe once or
twice a year. So it's why I dumped it in trade on the AR..

JB's gonna find what he likes and fits him, if it's steel that's
great, or polymer doesn't matter as long as he is comfortable
    and likes it..

Ask yourself. Whey you are suggesting for anybody to buy a weapon.
HOW much do they know about weapons. How much have they used or trained with weapons. If they do not have the back ground you have with a weapon.
Think about a weapon that is safe for them . And might not get them or anybody else hurt.
All weapons , and like the glock are not for that person that is not familiar with a weapon. And should not be carried by a new person with a pistol.

I guess if I had the explicit intention of carrying a pistol 100% of the time from this time forward, I would probably give a polymer gun way more consideration than what I am now. The guns that I have fired and I have fired a Glock before and from what I remember, it did have a significant recoil. I had shot a 9mm. That Springfield 1911 45 that I just shot the other day, I was way impressed with the lack of recoil that I felt. I have no doubt that the polymer guns are nice and I will shoot them. But I just keep going and looking harder and harder at all steel guns. Just a preference thing I guess, I wish I could explain it at this point..

Well JB will have to sort it out for himself for what ever he wants. He may decide on one and then like a lot of us later on change and go a different direction. I think we have all done that as we settle in on what we like. Just like bikes we all whore around on which one we like then settle in and decide on what we like. Kind of like, well never mind. :D
I'm riding to the funeral tomorrow and will be packing in my chapter vest. :)

I tried back in 07 to get off a bagger and go back to a young mans bike.
Had it built. Did 140 on a GPS in 4th gear.
Found out I wasn't young anymore. And I can't keep up with a young dude.
Got my But back on a bagger. I knew better. But I had to look once again.

The money we waste during our lifetime.
Wished I had some of it back. Life would be a little easier right now

I guess I waited to long to post my last message, watching the UO Oregon and Kansas game at the same time. JB the 1911 pistols haven't been popular sense 1911 for no reason. They have been the same platform sense then and function very well. Like I said I have two. My standard full size 1911 I do not carry, to big. My small 1911 3 inch I can carry but it is much heavier. My bigger guns are home defense and range guns. The Ruger 1911 stainless is a dream and great to shoot. Very well made.

My wife said between motorcycle, guns. boats trucks, rod and reels. She went downstairs and counted over 30 rod and reels. And 2 cabinets and a 21' bass boat full of rods and tackle.
She said I bought 3 bass boats in 5 yrs that cost over 80,000

And closets full of jackets and motorcycle helmet.
She said I must have at least 10 motorcycle helmets.
    And 10 pair of gloves.
and I just bought a new jacket.
She said I would have so much money it wouldn't be funny.
Never knew I spent that much money. She said the business I had paid for it. That's why you don't have the money now. You spent it.
It was your business and your money. You grew up dirt poor and I just left you alone.

I was able to find a shooting range near by me and one that lets you rent their guns and fire them. Here is what I found...

    Bill's Gun Shop and Range

I was out looking around again and I happened to see something else that I like very much. It was an EMP 40. All Steel and beautiful grips. Very nice gun!!!
