The Number 13 1-percenter or not

13 1 ers etc

Since back in the 60's a lot of bikers that considered themselves outside the "citizen" fringe have used 13. And a lot of street gangs, and joint groups use it as well. The 13th letter of our alphabet is M and I have seen that as stanidng for Marijuana, Murder, Mayhem, "Muggers and Thuggers" and some others. There IS a 13th Chapter MC, or at least used to be. That maybe the clash .
Hunter S. Thompson's book "The Hells Angels" listed the murder and marijuana connection with the 13 and also listed some other patches including the Playboy bunny, supposedly mocking birth control (??? Go figure I didnt write it just reporting)

I have seen 1% patches ripped off rags after a stomping, 1% tattoos cut and burned off...but never seen anybody get thumped over the 13. Of course since most cops get the FBI's handbook on "Outlaw Motorcycle and Dangerous Street Gangs: their symbols, emblems and tattoos" wearing a patch with connestions to murder and dope doesnt seem a smart idea, imho.

I liked Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas - the movie sucked but the book was good.

If you are law enforcement or anything like that do a google search for Friday 13 and check out the rivals the bike clubs in the east have with law enforcement especially in Ontario with their Friday 134 rallye Tom

Both of the two oldest clubs had thirteen rules of conduct on their charters. Since then it has come to signify the letter M but before folks used marijuana regularly these clubs had 13 on their rags.
