Once I got the pump off, naturally I began to inspect it. THIS WAS NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE!

The first picture is of inside the pump housing. The second is of the gerotor for scavenging. HOLY SHIT!

Not surprising at all that cast iron powder is like valve grinding compound! Aint like you were going to use a old pump on a completely new motor any way.were you?

If the pump was good, why not? See the dark striated marks? Right in the scavenging gerotor area too.

Was actually wondering the other day how your bike was coming along, have not seen a progress update in awhile.

Today I will be continuing on the disassembly of my engine. Today I am looking to get it to the point of where I just have to loosen the engine mounts. Then it is a matter of taking one side of the case off so I can see inside the engine. The anticipation is exciting but mostly frightening. Lol

Yes it will be a while. Will have it ready for spring that is for sure. It's a mess wouldn't you say?

Well, I am not so sure anymore that the crank and rods are going to be unscathed like I was hoping. I didn't make any progress yesterday as I got lazy. No progress today because the wife and I are going out riding and this will more then likely be the last ride of year for me as I will be bringing the Road Glide to a dealership for storage soon.

That does suck. I just looked at Weatherbug and it showing clear skies and 42° for next Saturday. I may just hold off and ride down to Faribault MN to pick up my oil pump for the Sportster.

Any suspension mods needed to take the upcoming power of the build? Or braking?
