I know bout the tires dude .
Buddy 4 houses down the street has already worn a set of the tires you posted out. He also used to race bikes. He rides like me
    He went to Michlien tires
Said he likes the Michlien better so far, they are wearing better too.

I"ve run AVons on the rear with the dunlap on the front, not a problem
only difference is the AVon has a much rounder tire, dunlaps from HD the old 402's
are square compared to Metz, Mich, new dunlap and E3 and AVon so when you
put the avons on in a pair the handling improves significantly.

And when the roundness of a tiree goes to where its not round much anymore and flat in the center.I replace the tire.

But I'm suppose to be like everybody else.

still not sure what yer saying, at 16K my dunlop on the rear was still round
it was just worn down to the min specs, not damaged, not flat, no cords showing.

The new tire compounds from Dunlop are very good for heavy baggers, it's why HD put them on the bikes with the wider rear tires on the new frame. They wear longer by design.

I can git about 10,000 on the new tires and you can see the round edge in the center has gone flat

When it's like that the ride ain't the same
Most all my riding is 2 up riding too
    Nothing rides like new rubber

Your bike and mine come with the same tire, the new dunlaps,
only difference is diameter of the rim. You should be able to get 15 to 17 K out
of the rear, watch the air pressure every time you ride, that tire should last a lot longer than 10K unless you're doing burn outs and riding on sandpaper roads..

I can get pretty Close to 14,000 miles
But the thread is poor and the roundness of the tire is gone
    Front will last longer
But I replace it at around 15,000

I have no front brake at all and I'm still here, too. Hardly ever used it when I rode as a young man.
