Ya know everybody has to take classes and git certified for everything nowadays
When I was growing up there wasn't classes for everything. You taught yourself or watched somebody do it and you did it.

everything has to be done a certain way or you need a pillto make you do it cause your not normal.
I started ridin in 64, my mom got me a bike so I could take my brother and myself about 5 miles to school.
No helmets, no boots. no eyeware. I was 14 yrs old.
Then I got bigger bikes and started running dirt bikes.
    Think I did pretty good.
I had to go git M on my drivers license to pasify everybody.
Now since so many people can't do things for themselves, you need to take a class and git certified and do it their way
Heck I'm from Northern Alabama. We learn how to do things and go with it.

Well I got 10k out of my rear Dunlop D401 so I can't complain. It still has some life but today its going away to become a Floreeda reef.

Howdy boys. Sorry I've been away for so long, but able to do a few more things now (long story).

Caught this tire discussion and had to put in my 2 cents. I've mixed brands for years with no problems. Heck, I even ran a radial on the front and bias on back just to see--not so good. I've tried all the brands available in my size and found Dunlop 402's to last the longest. They're not the most comfortable ride though.

The previous tires I ran were Bridgestone BT-45's. Had a 130/80/17 rear tire on the front, and a 170/70/16 on the back. The StreetGlide never handled better. Tracked like an arrow @ 120. But the back tire was almost smooth at only 10,000 miles, and the front still looks brand new with over 18,000 on it.

I'm trying the new Commander II on the rear now and it feels good. The bike has 122,000on it and is still purring like a kitten. It's good to see the banter again. Can't wait for snow to be gone.

Howdy FLHT. I've been out of action for awhile cuz of a dumb accident. Not the car or mc variety, but a car was involved. I was cutting down a big aspen tree on my property with what I thought was a good plan. It would fall on the back road where no one ever drives.

As soon as I cut through the base, here comes my neighbor in her Jeep at the worst possible moment. Adrenaline kicked in and I stupidly tried to grab the tree to steer it away from her. Well, it fell squarely on the Jeep squashing it.

Miraculously she was not hurt, but I had 2 dislocated shoulders and both rotator cuffs torn badly. Arms were hanging on by skin only. In operating room 4 hours later, doc has everything re-attached again, but sez I will never have full use of either arm again. He said to expect at least a year of recovery. Been on heavy duty pain meds for 3-4 months now so don't know what will work later.

My goal is to be able to ride on my new Michelin tire still this year. Ha!

Man I am so sorry to hear that. I have Rotator cup damage to right now on left shoulder waiting on further word from my doc. Not nearly as bad as what you went through. I have not been on the bike much, though. Do you have anyone there to help you? I'd be there to help if I lived closer.
Man Alex get better and keep us informed how your doing.

I agree...Looks like :puke: to me...The rest of the bike is nice though, from the fairing back...Hit one pot hole and that wheel is toast,no a lot of cushion in those O rings...

I guess that's what you'd call a pimped ride LOL.

Alex, I hope you recover soon and heal quickly and get a chance to break your new tire in! I tried a similar thing with a 50 ft. boat trying to pull the anchor up. Broke my back (the first time) and was laid up 4 months. That was 1986 and it still ain't right.

I called Baggers Magazine and told them to STOP my subscription
I was tired of seeing bikes with 26" & bigger tires
We don't have any people here that put that junk on their bike and I don't like it
And if that's the new trend I won't be part of it:wtf::angry:
