I rented a SG in Vegas my wife didn't like riding without a sissy bar, but loves the Ultra with the tourpack to sit back and relax on and when I wanted to go stage 2 she said sure and now she wants even more power.:D

Putting a passenger on back without a backrest is not fun. I have the detachable backrest to hold my small day pack and a detachable TourPak for longer trips.

Johnny, you're supposed to be RIDING with your honey, not fiddling with the bike!

I was going to go with a detachable tourpack but with the speakers in it and storage I would not go without it now. Put on the low SG windshield and fairing mount mirrors for the look and feel I like.

I suppose the wiring would be a pain in the butt. You could put a quick disconnect system in for the speaker wires.

See, that's what I love about the touring bikes. You can peel off all the big hardware in just seconds for a slim look around town. Try doing that on any other brand.

JB's legs are long enough to reach the ground on his sporty - wonder what he would do on a slammed EG or SG. Be hitting his chin on his knees all the time. :roflmao: But I think once HR got on and had a long trip under her belt she also would change her mind.:)

    ChuckTX,
I'd like to see those pictures, I am thinking of buying or building one to haul our popup canopy and a few other things to events that we attend during the summer, been looking at an MChitch, I've got hard bags on my softtail and i'd have to modify either the hitch or my saddle bag mounts. Well HR with those boots on could put her legs out from the passengers seat and hold up the bike at stops then JB wouldn't have to worry about it.:D

Johnny, Sarge is right about that. If you got HotRider out for a good ride on a touring model, I bet she'd change her mind. That is, if she will ride in back again.

I don't doubt it at all. She made me get a back rest for the Sporty. I fought it vigorously but I did it. Now she has her own bike, then she tells me to get rear pegs and I am not even sure she will be on the back....:banghead:
