I haven't gotten to adjusting the clutch yet. I have been riding the Sportster. I want to adjust it after the football game but the more that i investigate this, then more that I feel that it is the clutch that is out of wack.

To make a long explanation short, I am leaning towards the clutch cable being too long and it has to be adjusted differently than HD's stated procedure in the shop manual.

Sometimes the throwout bearing rod needs readjustment as the clutch friction discs get thinner from all that hot rodding you do beating those metric bikes & muscle cars off the line :). It happened to me. Make sure it's right ;).
