I made plans with a guy to remove and install my inside cam bearings. He also had the used but like new cam plate with cams. He makes stuff on his metal lathe and is making the tool to install the new bearings. We are just in a holding pattern till the puller gets here. It is the type that tightens inside the bearing and pulls it by tightning nuts. No chance of the needles going inside the crank case. He has the puller for the Evo but not the twin cam. He has been working on Harleys for over 30 years and this is the way he does it. I trust his judgement totally. Take care: Dew Rag Vancouver, WA. 02 Road Glide

Changed them on my "02 this year 30,000 miles and the side fell off rear one, wear was not bad at all. But starter gave up (had it rebuilt}while working on it, compensating sprocket was backed clear off. and after getting it going had to replace IAC. About $250 and enough fun to last me for another 30.000 miles hopefully.

Hello again everyone. I finished the installation of new cam chain tensioners plus new cams and inside bearings. New filter in gas tank too. It took 5 new gaskets to replace the old ones. I fired the Harley up after turning it over by hand then by starter with the fuel shut off and the plugs out. The lifters did make some noise so I shut the Harley down and waited while I was cleaning the Harley. Fired the Harley up again let it run for just 15 seconds and shut it down and cleaned the Harley. It got quiet the next time I started the beast and runs nice. Better than before. I am glad it turned out well and the help I got from here was great. Thanks again :) Dew Rag Vancouver, WA 02 Road Glide with 50,000 miles on the clock
