Twisted off new coil connector

    Josh thats some good biker-en repairs there ,both of then solder wire start bike (hope you got a short ride in) ,now you did it right & will get some good longer rides in & saved $70 :cool: I also do my own repairs On SS check so know what you doing to stay in the wind :D many a bike was built or repaired at home on a budget or just some bikers wanting to learn on there own & thats being a good biker knowing how your sled workes :cool::D

    Yup, I did get a short ride in yesterday morning with the wire soldered to the coil. Rode to Scotland Neck for breakfast at Hardee's. We call it "The Neck" around here. Ha-ha!

    Tattoo told me to never use solder on any electrical connectors for the same reasons stated above: they get brittle with time and break. Guess I'm going to have to change out some of my wiring or at least the connectors. Thankfully, I don't have much to start with!

    Did he suggest repair or replace the coil?? We all get brittle and break over time,some faster than others;)

    Don't remind me!:roflmao: He said try to fix it. When I get over to his shop, we like to brag how poor we are and tell the biggest lies to prove who's the poorest!

    More than once, though, he'd brag to a customer about me if I was around. He'd point at me and say, "70 years old and built his own kick start shovelhead with Social Security checks! Whaddya think of THAT?"

    Slight exaggerations all around. Tattoo Tony is a good friend.:cool:
