Hopefully that gets us out of the "always agreeing is boring" category

Never said I won't ever buy one, I just won't buy a brand spanking new one. And for reasons that HRK alluded to, with a 26k base price, I would have to change the seat and bars right away. I am not willing to spend that kind of money up front on ANY bike.

I agree that the trend that HD is going is good. I would only buy a Road Glide for touring purposes.

    The
RG has always peaked my curiosity but not enough to pull the trigger. Yeah I bought used most of my life and until I got older. I did buy new in 1983 (28 years old) but not again until 2012.(56 years old) and then again for my 2015 low. With little effort I'd gotten some great deals on used bikes via private party sales over the years.

I wanted to so badly to buy a brand new Road Glide but my initial impressions of it were very lack luster, enough to say no to it. I could type about how much better the road glide is but I won't because people like what they like. However, I know of two batwingers that recently made the move to the shark.;)

In part why I stay with the batwing. If I was younger I may experiment with a sharknose but at 59 soon to be 60, like you say..you like what you like. I thought the 2012 was gonna be my last bike, and it would have had it not been a POS. I like my '01 but the MM EFI wasn't reacting well to the upped ethanol and it was getting up there on the miles. it was either that or the stage 2 or 3 download was acting up? 2001ultra.jpg

You could say they "moved forward" by being progressive
and accommodating to one group, but they did ostracize another
by doing so. So not sure how you get they are moving forward
when the action creates a problem for all the previous buyers,
we are talking CVO not standard RG btw.

I"d say it's not as progressive when you offer a low option on
every model but the RG and then build the CVO to fit a specific
group that it wasn't intended for originally.

Lost a sale to me, gained a sale to a short person, still only one sale.

Yep, that's another reason, Mines paid for, no reason to go $50K in debt
it's crazy stupid money, but people will pay for it...

That must be the Canada special price. I got my 14 CVO for 38,000 which to some is even to high but you take and add up all the extras that come on one and you'll spend more to put that on a new 14 Ultra Lomited.

The low is far from perfect. Doesn't come with the CB, one antenna. No saddle bag rails. Minimum fender trim. IMHO they skimped on the low. At least it's from the factory low. Another good option added is the on board pigtail for winter charging. It's under one of the side panels. And the 6.5 radio with GPS is awsome!

I think the C B is completely unnessesary. You got blue toothed phone, How much jabberin you gotta do?. 'rather get the Ulrta Cutom, no radiators(more storage), Then build to your taste. Save a bunch dennaros. Don't want to spend 40k on a bike and have someone with the same gaudy paint job parked next to me. JMHO

Out here we use the CB all the time. Most of us have a CB and a great tool when riding with friends. We just limit the conversation but sure is quick and handy when you need to communicate. If you ride alone you don't need it.
I wished everything was blue tooth, even with the CB but maybe eventually someday.
As for my paint I get a lot of compliments and never have another one like it pull up and park beside me or anywhere around. My CVO is by far the best Harley I have ever owned and wouldn't trade it for any other bike out there including the other American made bike or bikes.
