The image that I want to use for the cover of my showcase is the one that I used in the showcase and posted via photobucket. ;)

With Showcase in order to enable your Photo Gallery you need to actually upload the image rather than link to it (i.e. Photobucket). This prevents broken image links should the image be moved. To make a photo a cover photo it needs to reside in your gallery.

    Steps I took:
    1. Downloaded your image from Photobucket (at PB, right-click on image, saved it).
    2. In Showcase, clicked on edit below your post.
    3. At the bottom, selected Upload Images to Gallery.
    4. Located the image I saved, load, then Save Changes.
Your image is now saved and you have a new tab in your showcase called Image Gallery. Clicking the Edit link at the bottom of your gallery allows you to upload more images and at any time you can change which image becomes your cover photo.

Let me know what section you were looking at that shows the posts that way. Below is a simulator showing one of the tech forums and my iphone looks the same.

And no, I haven't seen CB and he hasn't posted since Friday before the migration. Did we accidentally ditch him?

Ken, its any thread I open. All the writing is on the far right side with a large blank section on the left. Now if I turn my iPhone sideways only then will it fill the screen. Never had to do that on the old system.

Questions and comments have recently come up so I thought I'd address some here.
    1) Why did Bike Talk move?
    2) I liked the old forum better.
    3) Images don't work the same anymore.
    4) Where is my signature image, avatar, etc?
    5) Change? :meh:

I typically follow the motto, if it ain't broke don't fix it.
However in the case of this forum there was a LOT broke that people may not have realized, and there were many patches and fixes holding the thing together. Duct tape and bailing wire is a fix but never a permanent solution. Fixing the old forum was becoming too much to handle.

A major reason for the move was the software itself. The old forum was built on a product called VBulletin which was a great product... until it was bought out by a large company that has been driving it into the ground. New costly licensing, no support for previous versions, and a new direction for the product left forum owners stuck with an aging product. Long story short, within a couple of years or less all forums on that platform (the majority of forums out there) will be forced into an upgrade that is not only costly but poorly conceived. Coupled with that software being supported by a company that is thought by many to be in serious trouble, the consequences could be horrible for smaller communities like ours.

We had also outgrown our hosting service and things were getting slower by the day. A move to a new host was in dire need, but if going through all the work to move it just made sense to cover the above issues as well and upgrade the software.

Moving to this new platform here became an easy decision given the desire to continue providing a user friendly forum that most could adapt to while improving performance. The platform was also designed by the same people who originally conceived the old forum software, which is why things are not completely different (only slightly).

Issues around images is still something I'm working on. Image uploads on the old version was one of the hardest hits to performance that required daily optimizing just to keep the thing from crashing. Signatues and attachments were a mess. I relate it to taking a long ride and wanting to take the wife, dogs, and kids with me. Rather than pile them all on the back of my bike I'll settle for looking at a picture of them in my wallet when I reach my destination. Not sure about the rest but I know my dog will get over it ;)

Regarding the new look and feel, the old layout was, well, old and outdated. Basically it just couldn't make the jump so this new layout was selected. Also with more and more people using mobile devices it was imperative that the layout be friendly to use for everyone.

All of this being said, yes change isn't always easy. But I assure everyone that in the long run this forum is going to be a far better place to hang out and enjoy.

For anyone who needs help I will be setting up a special help forum here to ask questions and get help from myself and the other moderators. UPDATE: Help and Feedback forum is now available.

P.S. > Moderators, I haven't forgotten you either. Watch for more info on changes and moderating.
    And THANKS!!!!

All of the old images have actually been saved. Only problem is they are all just named with numbers and filed deep inside of folders making browsing them impossible. Waiting on a possible solution to eventually load them again into a new gallery.

But today's your lucky day. I found your old avatar by searching an archive of the site.

Hover over your userid in the upper right hand corner, drop down to Signature, detect or select your photo, hit delete and select Save Changes. If that don't work, something is wrong.

I like the improvements and changes so far. And I usually hate this menu searching stuff. It is much better looking. I do find it is a bit more difficult to find new threads as they used to be on some kind of page right after signing in, but I'll get used to it the more I use it. Maybe its just the way they look..

You still used to have to click new posts even on the old system. The only difference now is you have to go to the forums them click new posts or recent posts.
