I have a 4 gallon on. Looks like first thing Monday I am getting that V-Ductor installed as my bike may be my only mode of transportation for a little while. :banghead::banghead:

It is acting really weird. Like I had said on the phone that for some reason my bottom radiator hose came off (clamp still good) Replaced that hose refilled the radiator, and it started to over heat again. Either I have a cracked head, block, or waterpump is bad. I tested the old thermostat and it is working, but I replaced it anyways. I have to do a little more digging to find out for sure. Now I am not sure either if I am just going to rebuild the engine or get a different truck. :witsend:

If its the water pump you can see that when when the motor is running and the radiator cap is off. Watch for movement.
Now, if you have a bad head and it leaks bad enough that steam is coming out of exhaust, - your head gasket is leaking a whole lot! You may also notice that when you start engine up after it has set for a while - that it seems to hesitate at several places as it cranks, - or may even stop and have to try several times to get it to turn over and start. If so water is leaking back into the cylinder, (water doesn't compress), - and you have to force enough water back out through the headgasket into the water jacket to even get it to (turn over &) start. If it is leaking into the oil, you will see gray "goop" on dipstick -( if you pull it out with engine cold)!

You can tell quickly if head gasket is leaking by taking off radiator cap, filling engine with water, - and starting engine.
If it "blows bubbles" contineueously, - compression is leaking into water area-- the more bubbles it blows, - the worse it is.
Also if you increase speed of engine, bubbles will increase too. I leak real bad, it will just "shoot" water out of radiator!

OK JB, here is the scoop for me on the V-ductor. Was 73 today so took the Ultra out for a 100 mile ride. The roads were all back roads and one short section on Hwy 224 (55 MPH). All the roads were shifting back and forth up to 55 down to 20 with tight corners. After I got back I filled up again. Now before the V-ductor the best I could get was 36 MPG. Today with varied RPM rang on the gas off the gas I got 41.7:D I'm very pleased with that as I never got that kind of mileage on this bike before. :)
