What you are looking at is the gap that exists between the tabs on the ductor from the mounting bracket of my air cleaner on the carb side and the elbow of my air cleaner.

from what i see, it appears you could throw the air cleaner away as it is useless with that much space between it and the carb............something is wrong with the setup.....

Hard for me to tell by the picture but I think the v-ductor may be mounted on the wrong side (correct me if I'm wrong). The gasket and V-Ductor needs to be the first thing mounted against the carb, followed by the backing plate of your air cleaner. The gasket is the same shape as the face of the carburetor (or delphi throttle body). The V-Ductor needs to be mounted as close to the carburetor as possible.

    Order of installation:
Carb | supplied gasket | V-Ductor | your aircleaner's gasket | Air cleaner backing plate or mounting plate

OK I was talking to a buddy from florida last night and he suggested that the same thing. As of now I have the carb, mounting bracket, gasket, v-ductor, gasket and then air intake elbow. I will switch that around and see what happens.

Just looked at your photo and it is a bit hard to see what is going on but I think Ken is correct. Looks like you need to mount the V-Ductor on first then the mounting bracket.

By the way JB, had good dreams of Chelsea last night. I think the wife and I watch that show for two different reasons, :D
