Velocity Needle for Sportster

    I was looking at this needle for my Sportster. Problem is I have an 1986. Will the needle work for my bike still? My bike has a cv40 on it I believe. I see it says for 1990 and above but thought it was worth asking.

    It will only work if your carburetor has been upgraded to a 90-06 CV carburetor. The 86 used the former "butterfly" carburetor that does not use a needle and slide.
