Yep after missing two really nice weekends in a row for family stuff, I was riding last weekend cold or not. I do pretty good down to about low 40's or so, then my fingers get cold. Had to stop every so often and warm up my hands, rest was fine. :)

go to y'all mart they have these
little packages of glove heater packs
hunters use out in the woods.

Drop one in each glove and
    they'll warm your hands

Also if you have any latex gloves
put on a set then put on gloves
    works great.

Those suckers make your hands sweat. Got caught in a really bad cold rain heading to Street Vibs one year and put on a set of those latex gloves. Keep my hands dry and warm alright, but my hands were wet from sweating. Still a good quick fix when your hands are freezing and wet. Still carry a set on the bike.

Today it was in the mid 60s - very nice for this time of year. Now it's raining and a cold front is coming in tomorrow morning. Most of our weather comes from the west and moves east. Weather's been like a roller coaster. Got out to Wal-Mart and saw some bikers out enjoying the warm temps. I almost made it today on the bike . . . .

Our temps yesterday were 58 at 5am and dropped to 43 by 4pm. Took scooter to work and brought the electric stuff thankfully. Today colder still.

Hey FLHTbiker, I like your new thumbnails. Are you gonna ride that rig over to my place with that big sack of gifts? Then I'll be looking for tire tracks on my roof instead of hoof prints.

Meant up with Olbill and Maddog Watts today, shesh the sun never came out and temps stayed around 35, plus the fog has set back in. We wound up at Sari's cafe for a half a sandwich, cup of soup and apple pie. :D

Opposite happened for me, sun came out, drizzle quit, temp went up to upper 40s, so I got in a short ride before had to call it a day for family fun. Few gift cards to Dick's Sporting Goods and a bunch of good food. Day not bad. :D

That sucks! When they give you a new one, make sure they put it on a trickle-charger (3-6 amps/hr) for at least 12 hours before you install it.

Have you heard about that new lithium/ion dry battery from Shorai. Supposed to be 1/3 the size and weight of a lead/acid type, and last several times longer. Don't know what it costs though.

I'm more generous than that, Santa. There'll be some homemade "moose milk" and a bottle of Glenlivet to keep you warm.

Rode to a HD dealer 100 miles west saturday, left at 8:00 am.
The OL bought me a new front tire.
We went across the interstate and ate a Burrito at FreeBirds.
Then rode 100 miles threw Cattle ranch's back to the house. Got home after 4:00

Thanks for the info Alex, found out it was a little older than I thought, got it December last year so warranty just up,my luck of course. Will put it on my charge on the 2 amp setting and let it charge 24 hrs as you suggested to see if it holds the charge. If not I think I will steer away from another HD battery for sure.

HD batteries are hard to beat

Everybody's batteries has gone way up in price.
We been buying them for customers boats and installing them for the customers.
Seems like ATV, riding lawnmower, car boat, and motorcycle batteries has died this year.

I like the HD batteries CB, but feel I should get more than a year out of them. I even had a maintainer on this one everytime the bikes parked.

Batteries from Day one are on a destination to go bad.
The more you let them set the faster they sulfate.
A lot of the batteries I was talkin about replacing had battery maintainers on them.
Something about the Hot and cold snaps we've had somehow got to them.
I had a HD battery years ago to last 6 months and go bad. No it wasn't covered under warranty.
